No-one seriously picked Charr to beat Vitali.

If he attacked too much, he would risk getting KO'ed. But he fought intelligently and wore Klitschko down. Had the cut not happened, Charr would not have been stopped or KO'ed and you can't say otherwise, 'cus nothing implied that it would happen.

His attacking would have come later and we saw Klitschko on the run when the attacking started.

I thought Charr came for the paycheck after the first round but it was turning into an interesting fight after that. I think he would have gone the distance without the cut, Vitali's punches just don't appear to have any pop any more.

Man, I'm glad to see more intelligent people here. I hope that God will bless you, at least for that little moment of demonstrated intelligence you showed here.

Charr's stock went up in that fight. This didn't hurt his reputation at all. He was expected to lose, and even if the stoppage was unfortunate and unlucky he was almost definitely heading in that direction anyway. What would have been a better way to lose? KO? The ref stopping it after more KDs? Losing every round on points?

Charr showed he can talk up a fight and himself a bit, he is fairly game and has a chin and he escaped a points or KO loss with a cuts loss, which he may find works to his advantage in securing his next few fights.

As a boxing fan (and Klitschko fan) it's a shame how it turned out, but Vitali loses almost as much given that was his retirement fight and he was going to win by conventional means later in the fight anyway

Charr tried to attack late in round 2 - ended up on his ass.

FINALLY a smart Klitschko fan! I'm not against the idea of Klitschko winning at all, but people make it seem like Charr got owned, which wasn't the case at all, this was an interesting match in the making. It could have gone either way.

Klitschko never knocked him down, noob, only hit him in the backhead when he was out of balance.

What happened when Charr went berserk in round 4? Yeah, Klitschko was running, he seemed defenseless against Charr's assault. So shut the **** up.

You might have misread my post. I'm almost certain Vitali was going on to win the fight comfortably, but I think Charr would have kept himself in the fight in the way Chisora did. Not winning rounds, but landing shots and going out on his shield
