Manuel Charr gets my utmost respect. Dude came to fight which is a lot more than I can say for many of the Clits' previous opponents. P.S. Horrific stoppage.
Let me tell you something Larry, I didn't agree with that stupid stoppage either. That doctor is not qualified for the World Championship match like this or he is not probably a real doctor. However, as I told you before, I didn't see any sign in those 4 rounds that Charr would beat Vitali in this fight. He showed nothing to convince me that he's winning the fight. On the contrary, Vitali sent Charr to the canvas in round 3 (and you will argue that it's not a ligitimate knocked down, won't you?).
Even that would have been great, especially considering that Charr was fighting a healthy Vitali, while Chisora barely squeaked by a 1-armed Vitali. Personally, based on the second half of round four, I seriously think Charr had a chance of eventually taking vitlai down. I don't understand how anyone who really understands boxing doesn't also think this was at least possible. People get so hung up on a boxer's past opponents, or how he looked previously (even though undefeated.) This is fair to some extent, but boxers do sometimes get better, you know, especially at only age 27, and when confronted with a huge opportunity. One also should note that Charr is known for starting slowly and finishing really strong. That's his thing. I think that the Charr facing Vitali was the best version of Charr we'd ever seen. He had yet to really open up, and had a very GOOD chance of actually pulling off an upset in the later rounds. We'll never know because Vitali cheated his way to an early stoppage.
