Why do people talk about Briedis being a 'small' guy? He was 213lbs against Charr. That's bigger than Spinks, Holyfield, Frazier, Joe Louis, Earnie Shavers and Max Baer!

People need to understand that modern day CWs are essentially normal sized older HWs, and have a similar level of schooling and grit. Briedis is one of the best in the division, pushing Usyk to the very brink in a very competitive struggle that could have gone either way, taking into account a few swing rounds.

Charr wasn't even getting outclassed until the KO, which came somewhat out of leftfield, and was in all respects a perfectly thrown and landed punch. Big deal. Shavers dropped Holmes at 210lbs yet nothing is made of that. Louis dropped countless larger fighters, as did Evander. When you're an athletic, explosive guy above 200lbs you have the ability to KO and hurt almost anybody.

Charr recovered from a hip problem, so he's better now than before.

And 41-years-old Vitali, who prepared for that fight foor 3 weeks, easily kicked his ass.

I admire Charrs grit though. He always gave it a go. Went down trying.

I was really shocked at how much better he looked in the Ustinov fight. Just way quicker and more mobile than ever before. Most likely he's gone on a new, ahem, supplements diet, since he looked a lot more ripped as well.

Charr's never been much of a puncher, but the way he hurt and dropped Ustinov was highly impressive to me who used to watch Ustinov back in his K-1 days and gained an appreciation for how ridiculously tough this tank of a man was. It's very possible that the hip problem was legitimately hindering Charr's full potential, and we might see a far more improved version from this point out.

No, he really didn't. Following a BS knockdown caused by an illegal behind the head shot, Charr was actually starting to get into the fight when the ring doctor decided to step in and call a halt to the contest over a minor cut. And unlike the Lewis fight this genuinely was a completely premature stoppage. Ironically Vitali never bothered to come out of retirement to give Charr a rematch. Maybe he can do so now, now that Charr has a belt. Vitali has on more than one occasion hinted of coming back to the sport, though his intentions thus far have been rather unrealistic.

Nope. Though a Vitali fan should see the irony there.

Ustinov is awful, especially current, shot version. Kubrat Pulev knocked out prime Ustinov with a jab.

Vitali was winning 58:56 on all cards vs 37 y.o. Lewis, Charr was losing 26:30 on all three cards vs 41 y.o. Vitali. Lennox promised to give Vitali a rematch, Vitali never promised to give a rematch to Charr. Boxing community, fans wanted to see Lennox vs Vitali rematch and nobody wanted to see Vitali vs Charr rematch. Saying that Vitali retired from boxing not to face Charr again is beyond laughable. If there was a fighter, whom Vitali avoided at the final stage of his career, it was David Haye. But prime David Haye was millions times better than Manuel Charr. Charr was clearly worse than Chisora, whom Haye destroyed easily. Haye would demolish Charr in 1-2 rounds in 2012.
