Charr did land a really good left hook in one of the "later" rounds, and he barely seemed bothered, just dusted it off like it was nothing

I can agree. I like my MMA, but I don't want it mixed with boxing or kickboxing.

Lennon is my least favorite of the American ring announcers I'd class as "good" (Buffer is #1 but slipping of late, past his prime, torch nearly passed to Martinez...although he'll never be as popular as Buffer or Lennon because of exactly what I love about him: just plain, unadorned, non-gimmicky oration delivered with clarity and the appropriate level of urgency) but he's still nearly as much an icon as Buffer. He was the voice of big events on Showtime for ages.

As for Diamante repeating surnames, that is his attempt to have a "gimmick" of his own, giving a nod to old-time emcees that did that in smoky boxing halls. I could take it or leave it...just don't like his voice/bearing/hair.

Yeah the hair as well, a ring announcer is supposed to have a "classy" look, he looks like some hippy on the other hand.

    How did Hari get on?

When it comes to ALL AROUND Stand Up, that dude is arguably top 3 on Earth. He was No.1 for sometime, too. Killer!

He got the W but it wasn't easy or painless.

    Thanks. :good

I saw the fight earlier - not bad! Do you think Hari's increase in size has caused him to slow down? Or is it his age (he has been around forever, although he is still young)?

He doesn't look as fast as he used to, his combos aren't like what they used to be either.

Those guys beside Sapp were all awesome, but Sapp? Even in his prime when he actually tried to win fights he was just a roided brute who won with blatant fueling and sheer size. The Japanese loved their freak shows, and if they actually enforced the rules when Sapp fought I don't think he'd have a single noteworthy win.

"Charr is reportedly out of immediate danger after the shooting
FORMER world heavyweight title challenger Manuel Charr was hospitalised overnight after being shot during an altercation at a kebab shop in Essen, Germany.

According to reports from German news outlets, the 30-year-old is currently not in any immediate danger after undergoing emergency surgery following the incident.

The Cologne-based fighter was allegedly out with popular rapper Kay One at the time of the shooting, which witnesses claim occurred after a provocation directed at Charr.

The perpetrator reportedly fled from the restaurant in a car and is still at large.

The shooting comes just weeks after Charr was knocked out by Mairis Breidis and the German has lost three of his last five contests."

Is the final line of that article necessary? Talk about kicking a man while he's down. :yep
