Round 1

Briedis is hopping in and out, tossing jabs at Charr's forearms. Jab/uppercut from Briedis, flitting away once he taps at Charr's wrists. High guard by Charr, held tight against his face, plodding forward. Body shots sprinkled in by Briedis, putting out his forearm to brace off and pushing Charr away to cover his lateral escape. Lots of forward pressing by Charr but not much punching outside a lazy jab.

Nope, eight. They announced Charr's list of titles but none are on the line tonight.

 

Round 2

Briedis is jabbing and hooking as he turns Charr, and slapping down at Charr's own jab with a downward swipe of the left glove. Right hand plugged into Charr's spare tire as Briedis squares up momentarily while holding the left arm out like an infantryman's shield. Quick movement and light flurries keeping Charr unable to get a punch in edgewise. Briedis is closing in and wrapping his arms wide around Charr's neck to pull him into debilitating clinches when he finishes a flurry and runs short on space.

Mairis stunned Manuel a few times with the sneaky jab between the mitts, as seen on the slow-mo replay.

 

Charr hoping for a one-hitter?

 

Yeah, especially in an eight-rounder. Briedis does have a high energy-consumption style but has gone 12 before (and not shown any ill effects in the late going)
