38 years ago today, he won the heavyweight championship of the world, as he says it, "fair and square."

    What a story!

By any standard, George Foreman has succeeded. I give him every credit for turning his life around, from being that hookey-shooting youth told by his own cousin he was "never gonna be nothin', to one of the most recognizable smiling faces in the world.

Steps to success, the George-Foreman way:

    a) make peace with your Maker
    b) chuck the negativity, the defensiveness, the hostility
    c) move on from the disasters of the past, even if it means calling yourself "a dope"
    d) put a positive spin on everything, with a broad smile
    e) set a goal, work toward it and persevere; never, ever, doubt you are destined to reach it in storybook fashion
    f) keep humble
    e) find an avenue for residual income

    Belatedly, Happy Birthday, old George!
