    Intuitively you'd think they'd follow boxing closely but it's just like that age old scenario where you "do what you love for a living" but reality sets in and the expectations/pressure dilute it.

    I know Mike Tyson is like a historian when it comes to boxing. He can sit down and talk boxing like nobody's business, and he goes to all the big events. Hopkins seems to have done his homework as well. Not sure of any others off the top of my head, but I'm sure they're out there.

    I'm sure I know more about the history of boxing than most pro fighters do. They're too busy actually training and fighting while my lazy ass just trains here and there, reads, and watches fights, lol.

    i agree. . i get the feeling that most boxers don't even watch other fights. . only if they are trying to fight that guy or something. . .


    and most don't know much about past fistic eras, other than the common names: hearns, hagler, duran, robinson, marciano, ali, etc.
