Salinas battling for her life in there, eschewing the southpaw jab and just winging overhand lefts and rights up at the face to fend González off, to noavail! The onslaught continues unabated for well over a minute from the bell! González finally begins to slow, but only to pick her spots and thread hard uppercuts between Salinas' wrists at mid-range. Salinas counters with all her might, big lacrosse stick combos. More vicious uppercuts on the chin by González! Now a series of hooks strapping the sides of Salinas' face! Body shoeshine by Salinas at the bell!

That was a fantastic round. Perhaps the frontrunning women's ROTY contender.

I like Salinas; that was a courageous effort and she does seem nice in her victory interview (breaking down in tears of humility and gratitude) but...she got away with one tonight. González should have that NABF strap. I hope she grants her a rematch.
