Agreed. Each time he has come in soft (past 3 fights I think), he has not looked so great. I think its a clear indication, in Martinez' case, he is not training as much as he used to (whether by choice or force). Like OP stated, you have to measure his "level" of fitness by his previous bouts when he was at his best, think Paul Williams, etc.

 

martinez looked soft... and his conditioning work was pretty amateur to say the least.... he doesn't spar many rounds either...

he'll rusty/ slower fighting a cotto that will not have to worry about making weight, was feeling good, who knows... cotto might put it on martinez.
