Pavlik has 0 chance of establishing a jab due to Maravilla's speed movement and counterpunching.

You got to remember Pavlik was not at his favoured weight in that fight too.

Martinez will probably make Pavlik look foolish for a few rounds at least. He is definitely a more skilled boxer. Thing is he won't hurt Pavlik and I can see Pavlik's power hurting Martinez and he will be KO/TKO in the later rounds. Pavliks power and work rate will trump Martinez' skills. Martinez after all has never fought anyone with power that even comes close to Pavliks. It won't be B-Hop part 2 like many think.

what does that have to do with williams' punching power? pavlik knocked the hell out of espino and he would have destroyed glass-jawed kolle with one shot too. the point is, kolle is not someone you should be using to rate williams' power.

Martinez is going to knock Pavlik out:patsch
Some you guys are ridiculous. Pavlik took the best they had from Hopkins at LHW, peak Jermain Taylor, peak Miranda, and peak Zuniga. BHop at 170, JT at 160 and 166, Miranda, and Zuniga all hit WAY harder than Martinez. Sergio has a 50% KO ratio against mostly questionable opposition, and the number of KO's he scored at 160 stands at ZERO!

Martinez probably can't even get any respect from Pavlik let alone knock him out. Sergio simply cannot engage enough to win 7 rounds without getting knocked the **** out. He has a choice: Lose a boring UD by staying on his bike for 12 rounds, or try to win and get knocked out.

One loss to an all time great and now pavlik has a death wish in fighting Martinez?

You mustve forgotten about all of Pavliks ex-victims, dont worry, he will remind you in April.

I cant wait to see martinez slumped over in a corner. Then all you nay-sayers will be jumping on pavliks wagon like you did when pavlik beat Miranda and then Taylor.

    Boxing fans are so fickle.

I will be cheering on Martinez but I'm under no illusions as to who is the heavy favourite for this fight.

Martinez, unless he gets old over night, has all the skills to beat Pavlik: movement, speed, punch variety, athleticsim and ring smarts. Pavlik's best chance will be in the late rounds. Martinez isn't young anymore and with Pavlik's workrate and stamina Martinez will likely tire, much as he did against Williams, and if Pavlik can back him into the ropes or the corner he could land some bombs.

I think Pavlik will do what Williams did against Martinez...throw a hell of a lot of punches and move forward. The difference this time is that Pavlik takes a better shot than Williams and hits at least a bazillion times as hard. At least.

Martinez will look good and land his share of shots, but Pavlik's volume punching and hard shots will win him rounds. His body work on the inside will slow Martinez down to the point where Pavlik can start jamming straight rights down the middle toward the end, and that'll be the end of Martinez on that night.

Much respect to both fighters. Martinez is coming off a tough loss and is taking on another top flight opponent. Pavlik, while facing a smaller man, is taking on a very skilled fighter who poses him some stylistic problems. Pavlik's choice of opposition has been poor as of late. This is a step in the right direction. If he can get past Martinez we may see him in there with Williams, Sturm, or Bute. These are the type of fights that are expected out of him. I'll be rooting for Pavlik on April 17th.

Yeah, but not without getting tagged at will by a cab driver who is about as fast as coffee brewing. Martines is going to dissect Pavlic one round at a tiime and rearrange that already ugly mug once and for all. He'll put him out of his misery before the 12th round, book it. Then Kellie will go back to drowning his sorrows away in the local Youngstown bars like he did after Hopkins utterly and embarrasingly spanked his ass on the big stage.

I don't see what all of the hype about Pavlic is about. The guy is a one-two stationary slugger who has no plan B besides "doubling the ****ing jab".

Eventhough MARAVILLA iz arguably the top dog at 154, PAVLIK iz a BEAST nd fought BHOP at LHW. If Bernard couldn't stop Kelly...u get my drifting thought.

I'll still go with Sergio by MD or UD. I think da South American or Spaniard fighter iz something special. He should crack da top 10 P4P. If Sergio M. fights smart, he should win. I don't think anybody can take a clean shot from KP repeatedly w/o getting KTFO.
