That's right, got my timing mixed it - it was the two weeks following the Pavlik fight that he had to make the decision about whether to keep WBC 160, or 154 pound belt. . . Would have figured he would have kept 154 pound if he was so much more comfortable at 154, though. . . Especially if he wanted May, Pac, and Cotto fights. . I mean, why not stake your name, and set up shop there? Eh, whatever, pavlik rematch, etc., etc. . . .

I think Pirog's KO of Jacobs is better win than Barker, or Macklin. . . Experience of Pirog, and Jacobs notwithstanding, they are obviously A LOT more talented, and dangerous than Matty, and Barker. . . Just my opinion anyway.

Don't remember Wolfe saying anything about not wantign Sergio specifically. . .

Sergio is still obviously using the "biggest reward/least risk" calculator. . He wants to make the most money possible, by taking the least risks. . . But I guess that's what pretty much every boxer is doing. . I shouldn't have such demanding, high expectations from boxers these days. . . I just think he's a hypocrite by accusing Pac, and Cotto of ducking him because they said he doesn't bring enough to the table, when he did THE EXACT same thing with Pirog, Golovkin, etc. . . And I still think he's said more about NOT fighting 168 pounders, than fighting them. . . Another hypocritical move. . And he SHOULD NOT be referring to himself as "the pound for pound PEOPLE'S champ". . .

But I still enjoy watching him box, and appreciate his talent, and unique style. . . I hope we get to see him fight the best form here on out. If Chavez proves himself against Lee, then he's solidified himself as a deserving champ, and top 5 MW. And Sergio calling him out will be more justified as legit. . . I just don't see how he can call him a bum, and all this, yet he is SO ANXIOUS to fight him? Then the reason he says for wanting to fight Floyd so bad, is cause he;s "the best"? Why would you want to fight a guy who you think is a bum? MEH, whatever. . JUST FIGHT THE BEST!

Yeah, sure . Which is why DiBella was keen on Martinez fighting Marg just before Pac secured him:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226531

I would pull the article and quotes myself, but it's on the Scene and I don't go on that virus-infested site on my work computer. Not that we need to, though, because there's this quote from Martinez himself:

"I would love to fight a rematch with Margarito if possible, and then, from there, I would see what my options are," said Martinez. "But I would really like to fight Margarito -- although that's something that I would have to discuss with my manager and with my team and go from there. But I would love that fight."

    http://www.aolnews.com/2010/05/09/sergio-martinez-sitting-pretty-at-ringside-for-paul-williams-ke/

^^ That was just before Pac got hold of him. So if Marg was credible enough for him to pursue, why wouldn't he be credible for Pac? (This thing about him not wanting to hurt Marg, came after Pac busted him up). Like I've already said, Martinez is accustomed to talking heaps of **** these days.

And it doesn't matter to me what the masses "percieved" for Pac-JMM III. I myself, without needing to see the end result, knew JMM was a solid test for Pac. So for me, JMM was more than a credible opponent (as evident by Pac getting outboxed).

Fact is, Pac's competition is levels above what Martinez himself has been operating on. He's really in no position to talk **** on him.

Again, he'd been set up there and nothing had happened at all. He was calling everyone in the division a ***** for like the entirety of 2009. Hell nothing much has happened in that division since either, though things are looking a little better at the moment. Plus the fact that he was lineal at 160 probably played into that a bit as well.

How was KOing a relatively undistinguished prospect better than beating a guy who had proved himself on world level by beating Sturm in the eyes of most? And I have no idea how you can say there are "a LOT" more talented fighters than Barker and Macklin when pretty much absolutely no one at middleweight has done anything to distinguish themselves.

She said this on a podcast: Ann Wolfe - "I respect Sergio Martinez so we need two or three more fights before calling him out. Martinez is a solid fighter." You can see Gabriel Montoya's tweet on this.

Again he's never categorically ruled it out. Cotto and Mayweather have fought at the weight class Martinez is calling them out for, while Martinez has never done the same at 168, so I hardly see how that's hypocritical.
    Who gives a ****?

hes already moved up that one weight class to 160. hes a 154 guy fighting at 160 because there was nobody at 154 to fight.

froch, ward, dirrell, abraham, kessler, bute...sergio has very little chance.

if jr doesnt want to fight him do you think 5'7" canelo will? only lara/pbf have a chance against him at jmw.

Forgot about Martinez looking at Mosley and Margarito after the Pavlik win. Those both would have been crappy fights, and I'm glad he took on better competition instead.

The point about perception for Pacquiao-Marquez is that I don't think it was entirely unreasonable to criticize Pacquiao's competition when that fight was made, again due to the weight and age issues. I also believe all the fake P4P talk started when he felt that Marquez was robbed.

Poor Sergio, he's still making peanuts. He's jealous of Marquez . Marquez will make atleast $10 million fighting Pacquiao for the 4th time.

"Then why is everyone so fascinated with Pacquiao?

Because he has an excellent marketing team. Nowadays, you can mold a boxer out of nothing."

    You agree with that?

Sergio talking about ducking, while Chavez has a better MW resume. LOL. Sergio talking about ducking while he won't fight a single top rate 160 fighter and outright ducked Pirog who offered him 4 million for a fight in Moscow, which would be a career high payday for him and similar to what Shane made fighting Floyd.

    Sergio full of ****.

That said I agree with him regarding Manny and Floyd.
