I highly doubt after last nights brutal KO of a fellow p4p'er that the
STARS of boxing in the glamour division. I.E. welterweight will fight
sergio under any terms of reason. Mayweather has already chickened
out by having his unca rog price gayrunner out of the fight before it
was 24 hours old, and roach would never let pac fight maravilla at any weight where sergio could weigh-in at 154 or better. It's just not going
to happen fellow scribes. We know and respect the fact that at 35, sergio
wants to get PAID$$$. However, the truth remains that pac nor floyd need sergio. He needs them. There hall of fame careers have been set
(at least pac's anyway) and they have unfinished business b/n themselves. Sergio presents too many problems for either guy because
he's p4p almost as good w/ a good weight class over floyd and a good
2-3 over manny. I'd like to see the argentenian get paid like the rest of us, but it just isn't going to happen folks. I'd personally like to see sergio
defend against his new #1 contender. Dmitry pirog. That fight would be
awesome and also one i'd have trouble picking a winner on.

No one was really interested to fight Maravilla before the KO of Williams so I don't think thing will be worse for him now, I think the win will give him more clout to force fighters to fight him since he's "name" enough now.

Sadly, you're probably correct. Sergo is sitting pretty atop the middleweight division much like Sugar Shane Mosley was when he KO'd Margarito. As with Sugar Shane - no one will want to risk fighting Martinez when there are better paying lower risk fights still out there for them.

He's not more "name" that pac or money. That's who sergio wants, but
they don't want him. Trust me!! Floyd won't fight lil' pac but he'll fight
martinez? Puh-leeeze. And i just saw a fresh post with a link saying
that pac might consider a fight w/ sergio at 150. Ain't happenin! I rest
my case. You'll never see martinez/pac or martinez/fraud.

probably, but maybe fights with the likes of Angulo. kirkland or Cintron perhaps?? Fighters that would have normally asked too much money or say that he's a big risk - small reward kinda fight?

Guys like Cotto and Margarito @ 154 will definetely take the fight if its at light middleweight. Those are likely the best paydays for Martinez right now and very winnable. A win over Margo avenges his early loss and win over Cotto further elevates his star power to the mainstream.

I was thinking along similar lines, but I don't think Arum would put Cotto in the ring with Martinez.

I think Margarito will do it for the payday and a chance to redeem himself.

He's already accomplished a lot, all things considered. He only wants a couple more big fights anyway.

If his career does manage to not progress any further (fizzling out with a couple of routine defenses against ho-hum challengers) he still has plenty to be proud of in walking away.

Agree completely. When you think about it, 3 years ago who was he? He literally toiled in anonymity that wasn't his fault and emerged as the lineal MW champion (as well as belts at 154) and will probably be 3rd on most people p4p lists.

Right, but he could go out with a beatdown of cotto, margo, and then
defend against pirog, who was mentioned on HBO when max was giving
the who's who at 160. The purists, a real purist, would have to salivate
    over a martinez/pirog fight. I know i would.

I would love to see Martinez in more big fights, too.

If the price of his sensational KO win is that he'll be even more avoided than before, though - so be it. It was worth it.

Margarito and Williams III are probably his best shot at big paydays but neither will be available for a while. He could try calling out Julio Cesar Chavez jr. to come try for a real title. Failing that come to Europe and clean up the other middleweight titles. KO Slyvester and Strum in Germany and I'm sure he could tempt King Arthur back for a big money showdown.

Pac wants to fight Void, but Void does not want him.

Martinez beat Pavlik, and Williams two times! He did not allow the judges to cheat him this time though, although that was their plan.

Once people realize that they'll never fight Mayweather or Pac, they'll call Martinez.
