Marcel Cerdan is given a magical high rating via wins over Holman Williams, Georgie Abrams & Tony Zale, but his early death post the LaMotta fight didn't allow him to tangle with the early 50's MW's including SRR, Bobo Olsen, Randy Turpin, Rocky Graziano, etc.

Would Cerdan have been highly competitive against that early 50's competition????

I think Cerdan was waning then, but he still would have wrecked Graziano, beaten Turpin and Olson, and maybe even Robinson. Cerdan vs. Robinson would have been wondrous.

Yes I think Cerdan was probably slightly past his best when he fought Jake.

Cerdan is one of the best Middleweights i've ever seen. He shows some serious skill on film. I'd give him a chance with anyone.

'Wrecked' Robinson? I think Marcel is an ATG but methinks you're stretching things a little here.

The 'wrecked' bit was only implied against Graziano, that's why I followed it with 'beaten'. I certainly don't think anyone wrecks Robinson at 160.
