just got on for a few minutes. Joey? Tough, a crafty boxer but, at least from what I've read, I think Mercel had the complete package to cop a, somewhat wide decision. My $0.02
Perhaps a better fantasy matchup might be a Nino-Cerden.
ATG Europeon masters in a boxing, counter-slugging chess match. I want a ringside seat with two dogs and two beers! :D

I think Nino v Cerdan would be very close...and I think Joey has the tools to give Cerdan a tough outing myself...Cheers.:good

I give Joey a real chance here...but he would have had to limit his effort to more boxing than punching...and I know that when he was younger he liked to slug more...I go with the Giardello of '60 through '64 to edge Cerdan.

Cerdan is still kinda of an "unknown" being he lost his championship to Lamotta on a shoulder injury....and died before the return bout was held.

Joey G. beat a lot of top MW's....so in a one fight scenario.... Joey outpoints Cerdan on a close decison.

Marcel would have found Joey G a helluva different deal from a worn out, straight ahead kind of guy like Zale. You look up "wily" or "wizard" in the dictionary and you'll find Joey's picture next to those words.

I agree with Red and Longhorn that Joey in proper form (off that title win vs Tiger)
would outpoint Marcel Cerdan (off of title win vs Zale)
