    Could Bernard ''spoil'' Cerdans attack.
Or would Cerdans pressure, chin and power be too much for Hops.

If Hopkins tries to take the fight to Cerdan and bully him i see Hopkins being beaten he would have to stay away, Cerdan was very physically strong and i could see him with his great stamina being able to consistantly get in on Hopkins and score over the duration of the fight.

You needn't say any more. Cerdan's toughness was legendary.

Pffff. An over six foot middleweight who in his twilight handles big strong light heavyweights is going to beaten by a short guy who only had a handfull of fights at middleweight against fading fighters?

    Hopkins would execute Cerdan.

So you see that because Cerdan was shorter he wouldn't be able to get on the inside with Hopkins (and i mean why? did Hopkins have such punching power to keep Cerdan off him...)
When Cerdan gets inside he may have been physically stronger too... And could wear down Hopkins and i think win a decision.

Hopkins wide UD or late KO

Watch some BHOPs prior to his 35th birthday, Hopkins would bully Cerdan inside and outwork him too, nice photoshop job though

Cerdan wasn't big enough to handle a big MW like Hopkins ( he was pretty skilled too)

he won but beat the **** out of very few. Bhop too big for Cerdan NOT a MW fight.

Cerdan in Bhop's time is a Lightweight cum Welter, Bhop in Cerdan's time is a L-HW cum HW.

so Bhop to the spoiling finish, pt. Cerdan does have a puncher's chance though.

But the real question should be putting Bhop against the L-HWs thats more accurate!

Based on what? What big, prime, skilled top ten middleweight did Cerdan ever beat?

The big middleweights Cerdan beat stood two inches taller than him. Hopkins would have had five inches.

His three biggest wins were against Holman Williams, Georgie Abrams, and Tony Zale. After that his list of wins drops off significantly in terms of competition and every one of those guys was past his best.

May have been too physical for Hopkins or wear him down? Like he wore down Anton Raadik, Holman Williams, Georgie Abrams, and LaMotta? Who ever wore Hopkins down in his prime much less after? More telling is what Hopkins did to every welterweight he fought that moved up to middleweight: Brown, Trinidad, De La Hoya.

Hopkins loved aggressive fighters. He would have eaten Cerdan alive.

Thistle: A punchers chance? When has Hopkins ever looked susceptible to punchers?

Hopkins by TKO before the eighth round when Cerdan retires in his corner.

your a dreamer son, another one overlooking Cerdan's age too at the time of these fights

and excluding his opposition. Why based on the Ring's top 10, they were ranking more than 2000 fighters world wide for just 8 divisions, these other fighters were just as good, don't be so anal about things.

    2000 plus fighters, 8 divisions, Top 10...

Try Top 50 per division world wide, there were some great fighters!

The younger Hopkins would crash into Cerdan for 12-15 gritty rounds.

Both men were fundamentally squeaky-clean, particularly when it came to protecting yourself on the front foot. It would likely be a bout of percentages in which nobody is permitted the driving seat, but rather whoever capitalised on those fleeting moments (undetectable to the average slugger) would remove the judges from the fence.

Hunched over and a fan of rushing, it would be in Cerdan’s best interests to hack away at the longer body of Hopkins, even if it means hitting elbows 80% of the time. The executioners classic right lead n’ smother tactic would do well to thrive because Cerdan was no mug. The uppercut would be the sweet shot.

Cerdan may be prone to pick up a cut when they come to, but it shouldn’t play too much on his mind as he presses and varies his combinations.

Very tough to call. Perhaps is it Hopkins size advantage and meandering footwork that has the last say – resulting in more clean single shots as opposed to excited flurries that don’t quite convince.

    Betting still isn’t advised.

the whole period was great, but yes best time for middles.

but this is more the point here...

Cerdan in Bhop's time is a Lightweight cum Welter, Bhop in Cerdan's time is a L-HW cum HW.

so Bhop to the spoiling finish, pts. Cerdan does have a puncher's chance though.
