I will watch first in the morning David Tua vs Ahunanya (stream) in the evening Gamboa vs ??? (TV) at night Abraham vs Dirrell (TV) Maidana vs Cayo (stream)
Tua-Ahunanya is not on March 27. It's in the middle of the following week, on a Wednesday night (wee hours of the morning/Tuesday night for us on EST), 3/31. http://www.ducoevents.co.nz/ :deal
Gamboa's promoter Öner has a new TV deal with German network Sat.1 in place, but it is limited to this one date only so far. That's why he's trying to impress Sat.1 and its viewers by showcasing Gamboa's knockout skills on that card in order to get a better TV contract.
That kind of kills his momentum with American TV audiences, though. 90% of the people who saw him on HBO won't see his fight in Germany - only diehards will seek it out.
Tua will be early morning here, Gamboa at around 10pm and then HBO/Showtime and Morales at around 4am. ****! ****! ****! And **** knows how good a card Top Rank will put on!
why's that? Taking a tuneup fight is not a dealbreaker, whether televised in the US or not. There are probably a lot of people that caught him for the first or second time in January and they will be tuned in again when he's back on HBO in the summer.
If boxing has taught us anything, it's that... This content is protected This content is protected Besides, even if he tunes up for JuanMa with a tomato can (pointless at this stage of his career), every date off American TV at this point is an opportunity wasted. Why squander his momentum rather than build upon it? He could certainly appear on HBO four times a year if he wanted to.
