Sooner the better. Pac is on fire right now, he's fought 3 big fights in the past year. A March fight means he won't show any ring rust whatsoever while Floyd has only had one fight in the past 2 years. This will be to Pac's advantage :deal

2 months should be enough time for Roach to get Manny prepped for Floyd's style.

  2. Manny's main sparring partner is going to be Amir Khan. Huge mistake. They are taking the fight too soon and they don't have the proper sparring partners set up-obviously.

Manny will probably take a 10 week training camp for this, IMO plenty of time. He would have just under 2months rest, which is enough considering first 2-3 weeks of camp wont have any sparring anyways.

  4. Wrong. Roach has already stated that his training camp won't be any longer than seven weeks.

Amir Khan is fine, he's quick, moves his feet alot, pretty good boxing skills/counter punching. He's also tall and has the same reach as Floyd. Roach just needs to emphasize Floyd's ring movement and straight right hand/left hook.

Then who do you think will be a better sparring partner to imitate Floyd? I'll Wait....

    :think

If only Dirrell is a little bit smaller!

Errr, I can assure you it will be longer than 7 weeks. Even the Cotto camp, shortest one recently was 7.5 weeks... Pac can start training beginning january and still get over 9 weeks in there close to 10.

Khan is perfect for Pac to adjust to dealing with speed. Khan is just as quick as Floyd, if not more so, especially with combos. The key is to make him fight negatively, though -- in sparring sessions, have Khan move a LOT, and throw jabs at all moments, occasionally letting loose with the straight-right. Obviously Khan has nowhere near the skill of Floyd, but I think this sort of training will be VERY helpful for Pac in terms of learning how to cut off the ring against an agile guy who is boxing off the back foot with tremendous speed. Khan just needs to really shift his usual style, and focus entirely on spoiling/defending.

That's what I was thinking. Cotto busted him up pretty good apparently. He's gonna need time to heal, and that may not leave enough to properly train and prepare for a fight if this magnitude vs Mayweather.

Seems Manny is being rushed into this fight by the money hungry grubs like Arum. Roach doesn't seem to want this fight so soon by the way he's been talking. He always has Manny's best interests in mind.

Anyway, just shows what a true warrior Pac is. For a guy who only had 1 fight above 130, to fight De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Mayweather in consecutive fights, that's legendeary stuff right there.

As with all power punchers they have to plant their feet to get power, Pac is no different. The knockout of Hatton and knock down of Cotto both feet are firmly planted. That is why Marquez is able to nulify Pacs power shots, before Pac can plant both feet, Marquez takes a step back. Therefore, that is why Pac looks off balance because now he has to reach. Bernard stated in his fight with Tito that he watched Tito's feet and got out of there before Tito could plant. That is how boxers and technician get away from power shots. Pac is going to hit Floyd, however, not with both feet planted to get his power. Lets just say I am right and Floyd nulifies his power, what will Pac do then?
