OK ,So if Rocky's just won the WBA belt from a past it Holyfield ,how's he do against the following ? All named are as they were at time of fighting Ruiz. Holy field [2] Kirk Johnson Roy Jones Hasim Rahman Fres Oquendo Andrew Golota James Toney Any upsets there ?
Destroyes all except for Holyfield and RJJ Past Prime Holyfield would be knocked out in a short but vicious war that lasts into mid rounds. Prime RJJ is tough because 1 shot from Marciano would destroy him but Jones is extremely fast and crafty so he'd be hard to hit. I'd say Marciano faced an even craftier opponent in Jersey Joe Walcott, but RJJ is still much faster. I see this going one of three ways: Over 15 rounds RJJ gasses and Marciano destroys him Over 12 rounds RJJ wins by UD (most likely) Over 12 rounds, Marciano goes wild in a sort of Ezzard Charles vs Marciano 2 style in the final rounds and manages to clobber a slowing RJJ. Marciano via wide UD or late round TKO (with no knockdown, just ref stoppage) against Toney
I've got him beating Holy in the rematch ,Toney whupped him not long after ,so Rocky does the same.Golata put up a good fight against Ruiz, but I see him getting hammered eventually .Fres ,I don't see making it to 12.Rahman could be dangerous ,he could cause problems . Now Jones ,we could be talking Jones by slippery decision or Marciano wearing him down. Toney s catching a ageing Rock but he's no spring chicken himself. Could Toney be the guy to finish him ?Im not sure he could but I see him giving Rock a decent battle.
I cant, for the life of me, see Toney knocking out Rocky, even an aging one. Marciano's stamina and punching volume gets the decision. Jones is the only way I see an upset occurring, Marciano's style was even made for those bigger than him but Jones is about the same height
