Ali wasn't unhittable - BUT - Marciano was too slow and clumsy to lay a glove on him. Maybe one of the resident Marciano nut-gulpers could tell me how does your hero get past Ali's L O N G jab?
Joe Walcott was nothing like Jimmy Young. Their styles bore virtually no resemblance at all, and frankly Young's chin was far better tested and proven against big punchers than Walcott's was. Ali was barely 21 years old and had 18-19 bouts when facing Cooper and Jones. 1. Frazier was a pure left hooker, something that Marciano wasn't, and this was Ali's main achiles heel. 2. Frazier's level of upper body movement was far greater than Marciano's, making it difficult for Ali to keep him at bay with the jab, not something you're going to see as much from the Rock. 3. Frazier had faster hand speed than Marciano did, and might even have possesed a little more snap in that left hook. 4. Ali fought Frazier after only having 2 fights in a near 4 year period..... 5. While Frazier was not terribly larger than Marciano, he was at least 5'11", and weighed 205... This closes the gap a little bit between a fighter who is 6'3", 215, and one who was 5'10", 185 - meaning that Muhammad Ali was significantly larger than Rocky Marciano, and used his size to his advantage quite well. 6. Regardless of having quite a few more stylistic advantages over Ali then Marciano ever would, Joe still lost two out of three meetings, and fought life and death with him, even in victory... These things do not bolster a very strong case for Marciano beating Ali.
Again I ask, how does Marciano - a guy known for taking two to deliver his one - get past Ali's L O N G jab? A jab that's one of the *best* in heavyweight history. So, maybe one of you Marciano nut gulpers can tell me, exactly what does your hero do to prevent Ali from making a bobble-head out of him?
Marciano is Known for taking two to deliver 1? have you ever seen a Marciano fight? he takes two to deliver 10, His workrate was beyond anyone he fought. Unless your only counting Head Punches. Cos alot of his punches would be on the shoulders and arms.
Underrated head movement, abilitly to quickly get inside, and the power and strength to move Ali to where he wants him.
See there you go...You were caught out with your stupid comment how he gets hit twice to land one, And in order to cover it you come up with a Very Original comment. Comments like this just Discredit you, So your opinion means Nothing cos you are obviously a hater of Rocky. He never lost, and it eats you up inside. Poor soul.
Marciano was slow and had **** for defense. Period. That spells doom against a fast handed sharp-shooter like Ali and you Marciano nut-gulpers KNOW this. He never lost because he did nothing but feast on ole men and no hopers. Lets be honest here, name the fighters who Marciano beat while they were in their prime.
Go ahead and name the fighters who Marciano beat while they were in their prime. Don't worry, I'll wait....
He beat the absolute best available, highest ranked and some of them multiple times. You can not ask more of a fighter. Not Walcott, Charles, La Starza nor Moore were far from their prime. You could equally criticize Ali for losing to a half pint heavyweight in Frazier or a flawed fighter in Norton (twice, really) or the myriad of gracious decisions and refereeing performances that went his way in the 1970's. That argument would hold much more validity than criticizing a fighter for fights he WON.
They were still ole men. Now, answer the question; What fighters did Marciano beat while still in their prime? Ali still beat Liston and Foreman. Who did Marciano beat other than ole men?
