  1. Hey, I'm new to this forum. Don't know if this is a common topic but I've been curious and i figure you guys would know if anyone would. Did Marciano duck his way to a perfect record? What i mean is, did he fight all legitimate challengers? Im a fan but dont have the slightest clue about his opponents. Thanks guys

I think he faced his number one contender in all of his defenses, bar one, which was his number 2 contender(?).

He ducked no one. Some claim he ducked Patterson by retiring in 1956 (before Floyd was even near relevant at heavyweight), but when you look into things, it was Cus who wanted to keep Floyd away from Rocky.

  4. Alright thank you. i figured as much but you hear so much about the pampered fighters of today that it got me thinkin. I hope he wont be too mad i doubted him.

He fought everyone. Only one he missed was Nino Valdes who deserved a shot over Cockell in 1955, but Valdes as given a mandatory title eliminator against Archie Moore in 1955, winner gauranteed a shot against Marciano. Valdes lost, so snooze ya lose.
