Look how he hops back for the uppercut, and then closes the distance back up with the following hook.
    Scary

If Wlad Klit had Marciano's killer instinct....he'd have a HW belt today. Rocky would NEVER have
let Joshua off the hook like Wlad did when he hurt Joshua in the 6th.

Look how his uppercut starts below his knees, and ends up way in the sky.
Perfect trajectory, like from a video game.

Are you being ironic? It sounds like you are but, as you are a fan of Marciano's, I just don't know.

But, surely, an uppercut that starts from below the knee and carries on that far can never be described as perfect. If you're reaching up to the sky, I would have thought an overhand right might have been a better punch selection. Apart from how vulnerable it (the upper cut) would leave you to counters, it would expend a lot of energy without significant return in power generated.

Surely the perfect trajectory for an uppercut sees the punch start with the arm bent and the elbow no lower than the hip and the glove should not go much higher than the puncher's shoulder after the punch (depending on the height of the punch's recipient), at which point the shoulder snaps and generates the power. A good uppercut should not see the glove travel about 6 feet, surely? That's good technique for throwing underarm.

Apologies if you were joking. To be fair, you missed that I was joking earlier. But if you are being serious, I have to disagree and it bodes badly for Marciano that a 7 second gif, specifically edited to show how great he was, still, despite the short amount of time, displays what for me is a glaring error in technique.

Look, Savold ended up flat on his arse so, without doubt, Rocky clearly did something right. I just think that Rocky achieved this despite, not because of, the technique being highlighted.

Sounds like you are describing an arm punch uppercut. Ew.

I'm talking about elite haymakers thrown by great punchers with wicked heavy shoulder snap like Foreman. Not common denominator punches you learned in boxing 101.

Joshua missed an uppercut on Klitschko that was similar, but it looked more like a Carnera punch. Joshua clearly a very dangerous puncher.

No he's describing a short snapping uppercut. Have you boxed or trained in a boxing gym long enough to be taught how to throw an uppercut? The more your arm opens for an uppercut as in the closer it gets to 180 degrees, the more likely it is to be an arm punch due to leverages.

It's embarrassing that you need to explain this to him.

He is attacking a static target whom he has gradually ground down Lastarza comfortably won the first 4 rounds, after 6rds Marciano began to get to him with non stop barrages, targeting the body to slow him up.

Rez does post some good clips, I just take issue with his interpretation of some of them.
