I agree that Ali would have stopped Marciano on cuts. Ali had a way of turning his gloves that
induced cuts and Rocky certainly was predisposed to getting cut, sometimes very badly.

Prime Ali would win on points or cuts, I agree.

But he had pretty high praise for Rocky after being in the ring with him. Here is the clip

I don't think he had an axe to grind. I don't think Ali did here either.
I think Manny would've thought different with better access to footage tbh.

Why do you think he did not have the access to footage that you or anyone else has ? The man lived and breathed boxing all his life!
You don't think he would have seen the extant Marciano footage?
What new Marciano footage do you think has surfaced since Steward has died?

Unbelievable. Reznick's argument is basically that Manny Steward would agree with him about Marciano if only he knew as much about Rocky Marciano as Reznick does.

I do not believe he had access to what we have access to.
I think he could've if he really wanted, but it would have been a lot of work, and I don't think it would have made sense for him.

    We have the Web 2.0
We can source footage from various archives instantly, that have digitized their collections.
We can quickly compare versions of films so that the highest quality ones quickly rise to the top.
We can play the footage in more interesting and convenient ways.

I could be wrong that it would have made a difference in his thoughts.
But that is my honest opinion.

Also, if I had to choose between the two, I'll take Ali's testimony over Stewarts analysis any day of the week.

Steward didn't die until October 2012, he trained 41 world champions.A millionaire , I'd say he probably had up to date equipment.

Web 2.0 is fairly new, with the mass digitization and rise in sophistication of traditional media presence.
No amount of equipment could match what we have. It's technological, not monetary.

And also said Marciano could've won.
Which is why I said "he wasn't very sure he could win."
He was sure, but not very sure.

You like to post clips ? Here's one for you!
In this one ,Ali talks to Cosell at 2.50 He says," in top shape I would have beaten Marciano to the ground". He also says," so would Archie Moore ,Joe Louis ,and Joe Walcott,"if they had been younger!
So I'm very pleased you pick Ali's opinion and give it so much credence!
