Marciano fast footwork, closing the distance, and using angles against Lastarza

I wouldn't call that guy a wanker.
That guy knows what he's talking about for his style.
And he looks like he's definitely had ring experience. So that's pretty harsh.

I was illustrating the absurdity, it was a mock post because my patience is at it's end with this thread.

These were my true thoughts:

Like an accurate comparison would be this guy motioning the technique of Floyds right hook, and then saying not to do that. But you're exaggerating the point to illustrate the absurdity, which makes sense, I get it.

I think we all agree that the perfect uppercut should at least land and ideally the recipient should not see it coming and be defenceless. So let's all agree that this is the perfect uppercut and kiss and make friends.

Well most trainers will flat out state the looped right hand/hook in that fashion is a no no, that should never be used. It'snot even taught in most instances.

How the punch travels is situational i dont know any boxer who uses PERFECT TEXTBOOK technique 100% of the time because there are too few opportunities for that in a real fight sometimes your hooks get wider or you load up on shots or arent perfectly planted etc. thats what happens if youre fighting an opponenent and not a bag. The dsagreement was about calling the Marciano uppercut perfect. It wasnt perfect but it was adequate for the situation and he wasnt countered. I dont think anyone wanted to mock Marciano.
This argument needs to find an end because it isnt worth our time. Kevin doesnt need to post anything. Unless he makes claims about himself.

 

Rez never made one attempt to argue it as perfect technique from what I've seen. He used the description "perfect trajectory" which isn't synonymous for "perfect form".

Ezzard mocked Marciano, Kevin agreed with him.

He did make claims about himself.

Which posts mocked Marciano? Mocking Carnera ok maybe someone would do that, he looks extremely unimpressive on tape but while Marciano certainly wasnt a Pernell Whitaker he obviously knew what he was doing and i feel the entire argument was just about Reznicks posts and not about discrediting Marciano

That was my post. I didn't mock Marciano at all. I said it was a poor punch in my opinion and, as it missed, you could say I had a point. I then stated that Marciano was clearly effective given that he knocked LaStarza (I called him Savold. D'oh!) out but that the punch in the gif highlighted an occasion when Rocky had shown poor technique and I gave my reasons why.

I may have had a sly dig at Reznick but, as you read on, you'll see that he returned that with interest and we have agreed and disagreed since and, as far as I am aware, there's no problem between us. But I don't think anyone was mocking anyone when this post was made and, as the thread went on, the only people getting stick were us posters. Largely me for my crap jokes and Rez because, well, he was reznickating. I don't think anyone mocked Marciano. I certainly didn't.

You can say you weren't mocking Marciano or just mocking this one punch, but this is what you actually wrote:
