Rocky is one of the most explosive fighters of all time. Bobbing and weaving, and fast punch combinations, are not the only expressions of explosive ability. I can see now you were not referring to Marciano , thank God for that!

What they've learned from you on this thread is,Marciano had good balance and falling over after missing a punch is the sign of the huge puncher. If anyone is guilty of misinformation and exaggeration I'd say it's you.

Compared to legends, Rocky had bad balance. Compared to boxers in general, he had good balance.

If you are Lennox Lewis, or Rocky Marciano, and you fall down after throwing a punch, it's because you threw a huge haymaker that put you off balance. Shows so in the Lewis footage. Says so in the Marciano quote.

Lewis was a giant, he was naturally not so coordinated as some men 7inches shorter and 50lbs plus lighter. There are several instances of Marciano falling over after missing punches, it wasn't an isolated incident ,but you just keep nurturing that flame. Your opinion is diametrically opposed to Manny Steward's, this may shock you, but I'm taking his opinion over yours.

I think Stewart was comparing him to legendary heavyweights. So I don't disagree with him.

Steward could not find room for Marciano in his top ten,do you agree with that?

I agree Rocky had good balance also. You can't string endless combinations together without good footwork and you can't have good foot work without good balance.
Look at him stalk guys constantly , always locked and loaded , never needing to reset. Take Walcot for example , a guy with ATG feet - Rocky was always up in his chest , grinding him down. No goofy guy who can't manage to stay upright is doing that to the likes of Jersey Joe and Charles and the like.
You're going to stumble and miss a few times when you're a high volume attrition fighter.
What's Lennox excuse? He fell over throwing a single punch against a bum.

Marciano was being outboxed by Walcott until the old guys legs began to give out on him and he increasingly resorted to going to the ropes.
