You really need to get a dictionary because you obviously don't know what the word "hyperbole" means, which is an "obvious and intentional exaggeration". Mcvey's source said it was under a minute. It isn't hyperbole to repeat word for word what is stated in a source. Your 10 minute statement was just flat out wrong and the term hyperbole fits more for your claim than his. And You knew it wasnt in your source, so in other words you lied and then had the nerve to dig your heels in, stand by it, and insult people. This is behavior id expect from a 7th grader.
I haven't had much to do with Bummy before this, very disappointing behaviour. But now, forewarned is fore armed!
Lmao now he's saying he did it just to see our reactions. He still refuses to admit he intentionally lied. That's imo more dishonerable than lying itself.
Cmon with this 20 year old nonsense. He was professional fighter for goodness sakes with over 30 bouts. He wasn’t some college drop out whom decided to pick up gloves that weekend. Most well talented fighters and managers viewed Satterfield as a stepping stone and they probably thought Cleveland was ready to move up. He wasn’t. Satterfield was talented so no shame in the lose. It just looks really bad with the anti Marciano crowd. You know real little guy with a bad chin beats big tough guy w power. Not supposed to happen so excuses must be made . Give Satterfield the credit and move on.
It was literally so last minute the newspapers were still reporting it was Dov Williams vs Satterfield (the original fight). It was not seen as a stepping stone by any means either. Even Williams manager said it was a gamble taking the fight and he only took it cause he owed the promotor a favor. The fact that you're trying to act like this didn't factor into his loss is laughable.
He was in good shape, his manager said so. Plenty of roadwork. Still sharp from the last fight, his best win so far. The manager hoped a win over Satterfeild might launch Williams as a possible winter fight for Marciano in Miami. this article from the Miami Daily News describes a lot of the background into the bout. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...?key=MkRCSU1TY1dfWFJSMWhVRUc4dTBWNWN5dzF2SXBB Satterfeild was 1-2 in his last three fights. 25lb the lighter man. Seems like a lot was in Williams favour when they rolled the dice on Satterfeild.
The article also said he had the potential ability of a champion. Are you inclined to agree with this as well?
Of course Williams had been groomed to be a champion. He was a good fighter. I am a strong believer that big backing (Williams had backing) is as crucial for great fighters to making it as talent alone. All fighters of big backing have championship potential. Ultimately in spite of this, Williams just didn’t make the grade. But If I managed Williams I would have taken the Satterfeild fight. I would have been wrong. But how can’t you take it as a step up fight? The kid is a banger. He’s fresh, fit and knocking everyone out. There is nowhere to go but up. And the opportunity comes to take a much smalller guy who has a history of getting knocked out early who might launch him? You have a kid who has demolished every man he has fought (remember Williams rematches and kayoed the one guy he lost against) and has the chance to fight the one name guy who has lost two of his last three fights, with a record of being knocked out early and he’s 25lb lighter than your guy! Opportunities like this don’t come around every day. The risk reward factor are worth taking, you have to consider the investment in Williams to that point, I am happy to go out on a limb here, I think all managers, all the best ones, would take that fight!
