Washed up is overstating the case ,he was past his prime imo, but not washed up.He had 25 more fights after the Satterfield win and won 11 of them, being stopped in 5 of them.

Don Turner said if Charles never ran into Marciano he would have been “alright”. Which happens a lot in boxing. If Mugabi never ran into Hagler he would have been alright too, it happens. If Lacy never ran into Calzaghe...etc etc.

Well I'm not going to go into Don Turner, he's made some absolutely ridiculous pronouncements imo .
Turner was 15 when Charles fought Rocky.
    Let sleeping curmudgeons lie.
ps Charles had won 2 of his last 4 when he first tangled with Marciano,so how " alright " was he?

Good enough to knock Satterfeild flat on his back for the full count.

And this was before Bob would demolish Williams.

This means Jack ****. Satterfield was kod by
    Lamotta 7rds
    Hall 4rds
    Henry 1rd
    Baroudi 2rds
    Pashak 1rd
    Moore 3 rds
    Foxworth 1rd
Stopping him wasn't a special feat ,his lifestyle and his chin often let him down.
Marty Marshall took him out in 2 rd a few months after Charles did. Charles was on his way down ,not shot but past prime.

Of course we are comparing a Holmes fight with championchip fights, since we want to evaluate what happens. And therefore its very unlikely he gets stopped.
Fighters Marciano faced over 200lb? Oh sure, his record is 11-0 here (8-0 minus fat MWs) Want to see these guys in detail?

254lb Jackson 4-2 (don´t use the avarage weight here because of this fattie, use the median for proper descriptive statistics) (started at 160)
    206lb Hardemann 1-4
    213lb Connolly 8-5
    201 Donato 7-10
    206 Eatman 22-20-5
    220 Shkor 30-18-2
    229 Wilson 41-11-2
    200 Simmons 8-8-1
    213 Louis 66-2
    200 Savold 104-45-4 (started at 158)
    205 Cockell 66-11-1 (started at 160)

Is that the bunch of "Heavyweights" you wanted to talk about?

That’s 353-134 record for the 200 plus gang. How quickly did he knock them out? You seemed to leave that part out
Knocked em all out at about an average of 4.4 rounds (top of my head all this so don’t kill me over a decimal) . That extra weight and height didn’t help em much did it? Realistically how many more 200 plus pound men must he have knocked out for you to get off your odd crusade against him? 15?20? Let’s see if you can have a normal convo and not let your brain virus you constantly speak of disrupt your frame of thought.

Yep 4,X rounds is the same I calculated, including the fat middleweights.
Its 287-132 without the accomplishments a longtime champion made, beat in his last hurrah. But even at 350-134, do you think thats good? 134 losses for 11 fighters, 12,8 losses each? They got their losses in an era of 189lb median, beeing 15-20lb bigger than the LHW-CWs.
Do you honestly think these 11 (including 3 middleweights) are comparable to HWs after the 50s?

Alex Stewart knocked his first 20 bigger HWs out in 2,0X rounds. And thats 2X legitimate HWs, fighting other HWs for their results.

Marciano knocked the first several HWs out in 1 round. The better competition stretched that number out to 4. I don’t think it was the best crop of HWs ever but let’s face it not much different then most people’s competition. The amount of losses doesn’t mean much to me. Back then you fought more often and didn’t much care about a few losses it was supposed to be a learning experience. Marciano was supposed to lose a few fights his first ten fights (was set up to fail). Today they avoid a loss like the plague. Personally I get your argument about Marciano v Super HWs but as much as there is a question of can he? There’s also enough evidence to say why can’t he? I think having one solid win against a 6”6 guy would have been good enough for many. Unfortunately there was no one around at the time that would be worth noting

Well this is true, but just how bad was Williams then? Cleveland was supposedly one of the most dangerous punchers. and he was still on the receiving end of a chilling knockout from a guy who lost all those fights to middleweights and light heavyweights.

Don't make yourself so important I posted an article saying Big Cat was Ko'd for several minutes when you all stated under a minute - after posting the article that stated several minutes WHY else would I say 10 minutes when I posted the article in the first place unless I was countering the under a minute claim but does it really matter my point was Big Cat got Ko'd by a smaller man who got KO'd by Moore, Charles and Layne - the same guys who were being disparaged as small old Marciano opponents

At that stage Williams was a promising comer, whereas Satterfield was in the top ten.
How good was Bob Baker whom Satterfield kod in 1rd in53.?In 54 Baker was no4!
How good was Holman whom Satterfield kod in 2 rds in54?
    In 55 Holman was no4!
