He was a complete joke as a person and a fighter. He could only beat mob controlled fighters and guys who were way past prime. Ne never even beat a half way decent fighter in his career who was still in his prime. He lost to 177 pound club fighter Ted Lowry who had a career record of 70 wins and 68 loses. That is bad enough then you realize this guy basically carried Marciano and avoided knocking him out. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:19970. Roland LaStarza a average 180 pound also beat him in their first fight. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Rocky_Marciano_vs._Roland_LaStarza_(1st_meeting)

Marciano's stupid fans love to tell you how he could of weighed 200 plus pounds. Well anybody could just put on weight. But if Marciano felt comfortable fighting at 205 plus pounds he would of. There wasn't a rule stating that he couldn't. He chose to weigh between 177 and 193 because that was his natural weight and for the most part those are the guys he fought. Guys who were 190 pounds or a lot less.

Marciano fans will tell you but he punched so hard at the weight class he was at so that must mean he could knock out modern size heavyweights. That is like saying because Julian Jackson was a hard puncher at 154-160 that must mean he would knock out guys Wladimir Klistchko size.

His fans love to mention other guys who moved up and beat bigger fighters but are too stupid to realize if they guys moved up then clearly they were capable of doing it and they did. Marciano stated 180 pounds because that is what he was. They are too stupid to realize guys like Holyfield was 6'2 and 190 because he chose to be. He moved up to heavyweight because that is what he was.

His fans aren't smart enough to realize he got knocked down by Archie Moore a guy who started his career weighing 140 and knocked down by 190 pound Walcott. Both of these guys were way past their primes and neither were modern sized heavyweights. Rocky Marciano couldn't even handle Ted Lowry's power. But of course he could move up and fight guys like Tyson, Bowe, Tua, Foreman, either Klistchko brother, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Lennox Lewis and any other big time heavyweight with a big time punch and beat them.

Marciano fans are clearly the most racist and most clueless boxing fans on Earth. They are so pathetic they make Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather fans seem intelligent.

Marciano was a phenomenal heavyweight.

He had no amateur career to speak of, little stubby arms and no real natural skill to speak of.

What he had was an indomitable will to succeed, and through sheer force of perseverance turned himself into a world beating boxer. He developed his own unorthodox style to turn disadvantage to advantage, had great power and insane stamina. He wrung every drop of potential into actual performance, and for that I can only deeply admire the man.

People who hate Rocky are sad individuals that refuse to recognise that he actually did beat guys that are "modern heavyweights" weight wise, and that he actually did beat ATG fighters, decisively.

I can only surmise that blackbuttcules is a racist whose ass is chapped by the fact that a balding, little Italian knocked great black champions like Moore, Walcott and Louis the F out.

Funny thing is, Marciano probably felt worse KOing Louis than blackdorkules feels about it.

Speaks volumes about the difference in character between the poster and the boxer.

Well blackhercules clearly is a racist so the answer is self evident ;)

He will just say that you are an "Uncle Tom" and a "coconut", black on the outside, but white on the inside. It's a standard schtick.

I think he's over rated as a HW certainly.

But as a 190 p4p fighting machine he's one of the best that ever lived.

Possibly
Dempsey
Langford
Prime Charles
There sure aren't many!
