He'd be the king of the Cruisers imho. I wouldn't expect him to fight a string of 250lb beasts. Size has got to tell eventually, and while I can conceive him beating a top 250 guy on his best night, fighting a series of them would result in horrendous wear and tear.

He was a good light heavyweight in a era of light heavyweights, that is about it.

    Today, in 2017?
Yeah I think that's the most likely scenario. And I agree he would be the king of that division.
He would most likely dominate the others so handedly that there would be unusually strong demand for him to move up.

I guess the only alternative is if he realizes early in his training that he can fight at above 200 comfortably, and succeeds at HW in the amateurs.

Either way, he would put some serious work into the HW division.
He's definitely better than Povetkin imo. It would be interesting seeing him in the mix with Wilder and AJ. Those would be some tough fights for all parties involved.

Marciano is underrated and overrated at times from what i see.

Nope. Marciano cannot beat a Prime Mike Tyson .

Nope. Lightheavyweights like Antonio Tarver, Autur Beterbiev and Sergey Kovalev cannot beat Marciano.

Yes, but the jabs that guys like Liston, Lewis, Bowe, Foreman and Wlad threw are power punches, face-chewing power punches. He wouldn't be taking too many of them. And each of those guys had gossamer reaches and immense strength which even out-proportioned their size.

All well and good. Marciano deserves the utmost respect and admiration. He was a fighter truer than there has ever been. I still love watching him.

If he is the most overrated fighter in history, then it is a shame that your entire miserable life seems to be spent obsessing about him!

It's possible, but I'd pick Marciano to beat Dempsey, but that's just me.

I understand what he was trying to say, the problem is, the implication of such a premise is racist. I just thought it was funny.

Marciano must have really had crazy, out of this world punching power that was discouraging for opponents if he could get the heavyweight title without having any real skills so to speak.

If 210 lb Cunningham can rattle Fury then a 200lb Marciano would do some serious damage to the heavyweight division today imo.

He was a lot better than good! The men under 190lbs that would be given a realistic chance of beating him can be counted on the fingers of one hand!

He defended against and beat everyone who deserved a title shot. Wouldn't it be fantastic if today's heavyweight "champions" emulated that feat?
