Rock in his last fight, perhaps feeling the years of up close brawling matches, decked by Archie but coming back in true marciano fashion to wear Moore down. Foreman at the end of a long winding career lost by a majority decision to shannon briggs, a fight most thought George won. Who takes it?

Marciano would win, and it would not be pretty.

The version that fought Moore was basically as good as any.

Yep can pretty much see that my self. Think rocky would be bulldozing his way through. Foreman at that point wasn't knocking people out probably cos of lack of speed and co-ordination due to his age. Even though people say he win the briggs fight foreman knew he was past it by then and if he had a still youngish rocky banging away at him it would be painful to watch. Foreman is there at the end but his face tells the story. Rock by unanimous Dec

This is a joke right? A 5'10 190 pounder with a 67' reach against even a 50 year old foreman would be a devastating mismatch. Why do you think the much younger, spry Briggs who had excellent punching power and a good chin chose to circle an old foreman and run away from him...? Because he didnt favor his chances mixing it up with him. Against a 50 year old. Foreman's power scared him that much.

There is just no way in hell or on Earth Marciano beats foreman. I could see David Tua pulling it off due to his abnormally large frame and bulk for a man his height amd fightening power against this version of foremam but Rocky...? No disrespect, he was a legend, but Foreman was taking his grandkids to the park on wednesday and getting blasted in the face with flush power punches from 20 year olds on saturday. He never went down once in his comeback not even in his wars with Stewart or prime Holyfield. Tommy Morrison and Briggs couldnt put a dent in him or rock him. Wtf is Rocky gonna do?

At the risk of increasing the dislike for me from Rocky fans I think there are a lot of valid points here that have to be considered.

Foreman was so slow in this fight he made Briggs look like Mayweather

Foreman lands a few jabs but can't pull the trigger on anything with leverage, Maricano grinds out a decision. Remember when Holyfield landed a 20 punch combo on a younger old Foreman and beat him into a shell for the rest of the fight? You would see lots of that.

I'd still pick Foreman. I thought he narrowly deserved the nod in the Briggs fight and that was against a very large and prime contender with a lot of power. Rocky wouldn't be able to bully the much larger Foreman and George's cross arm defense along with his excellent ability to tie a man up close would be the deciding factors. His punches had lost a bit of snap by the late 90's but he'd still have enough power to hurt Rocky who was decked by Archie Moore. Foreman by late round stoppage.

Didn't even read past this point because I agreed so completely!

Putting Marciano against a 50 year man is a horrifically brutal mismatch.

Marciano will be inside Foreman's arms punching the hell out of him.

    Rocky by brutal KO.

Agreed. At the end of the day Rocky has to get inside to do any damage to George. Any time this happens, Foreman ties him up, pushing his back into mid range and throws one-two combos with some of the missing and some of them landing. Each shot that George Lands will take its toll and Rocky wasn't in prime form by the Moore fight anymore either.

Marciano might actually have a better chance against the young version of Foreman who was always going for the kill.
The old Foreman was more relaxed and content to box the distance, which would leave Marciano with an even slimmer chance.
I'd give Archie Moore a better chance of defeating old Foreman, in a chess match.

As much as I love "the rock" I wouldn't give the guy a cat in heck chance against the prime George.I can't see rock getting in to the third round.. Even against the George from the evender fight would best him. I just feel by briggs fight he'd lost so much and a strong, determined rock could possibly do this. Yes marciano would struggle, he would be hurt. But using a combination of power punching, slipping the jab which by then was pretty slow, and determination he could get a points win . I definitely don't think it's a absolute certainty, against foreman it never is but maybe he could pull it off

How? I normally respect your opinion but explain logically how Rocky is going to get insid and make it a phonebooth battle?

Foreman was taller, 78' reach, had a cross arm block, huge powerful arms. Even at 50 Foreman was still chopping wood and pulling jeeps. Again, wtf is 185 pound Rocky gonna do on the inside? Isnt that SUICIDE? Who would be stupid enough to deliberately try to slug it out with foreman--whilst giving up 70 pounds of weight?

This would be like canelo alvarez forcing his way inside against anthony joshua with an ingenius game plan: slugging it out with a man twice his size. Apparently marciano hit harder than a prime holyfield, alex stewat, tommy morrison, shannon briggs, gerry c00ney, need i say more? Because none of those guys could do more than buzz him and he still kept coming.
