The man was tiny as pointed out by many here but could beat down men much bigger than him, its easy to see him KOing the likes of Wlad. You have to think one of the greatest fighters to walk the face of the earth and obviously P4P one of the very best.

He dominated his era that’s all you can ask from the heavyweight champion.

A great fighter .I don't like his chances with Wlad however.

Came along at the exact right time to achieve what he did.

    That is all.

I rate him very highly, but because it's below Holyfield I get into arguments about it still

    A great, great fighter.

One of the greats p4p. Not only could he beat men bigger he did. Not many modern sized heavies. But he did 3 men in the top ten p4p ever. Some older but all were fighting well at the time. How many men can claim that?

He wouldn't KO Wlad in a hundred fights. He would be a boy in there with a man, a specimen and talented operator on every level. And the truth is that Marciano never beat an elite fighter who was significantly larger than him. And no, I don't consider that mummy that was Joe Louis to be elite in the broader context of what it took to be elite historically in that division.

That said, you have to rank him very highly pound for pound.

Given I believe you have Charles rated top5, shouldn't Marciano be higher? Given they fought at the same weight pretty much.

I guess it depends on criteria

Given that Charles was all but gone for the Marciano fights, and is much smaller naturally, no his wins over Charles aren't that impressive P4P. The added weight Charles has was fat from age.

And H2H doesn't mean much anyway, I don't have Márquez anywhere near Pacquiao. I don't have Norton anywhere near Ali. I don't have Tyson anywhere near Spinks ect.

One sportswriter commented that if all the heavyweight champions of all time were locked together in a room, Marciano would be the one to walk out.

Best engine and workrate in heavyweight history.

Biggest heart in heavyweight history as well.

With all that being said i think he is great overall. But i do not know if he would beat wlad so many things that could happen. Wlad could jab and hold all night like he did povetkin . wlad has the size and skill to outpoint rocky .

Wlad also has the size and power to try and stop rocky. Although idk if wlad could finish off rocky .

If wlad tried to knock rocky out he could find himself getting outgunned and stopped .

One of the few great heavyweights that did not have a size advantage in his fights. Most other top heavyweights were bigger then most their opponents.

What pity his contemporaries weren't worthy of him. Had to build his name on old men.

How is this quantifiable? There's like 20 fighters who could qualify for this.

Look at Patterson, the guy was dropped 35 times or something and got up for all but 3, and even then he tried. Charles did similar.

Ali was fighting killers with brain damage and not giving in.

Louis was off the floor and knocking people out almost every time he went down.

    Holmes vs Shavers.... Sn
    Foreman vs Frazier.... Sn

Holyfield went to war with the baddest mutha****ers, outside of the 70s, and never gave up, after losses and fighting through injuries.

    Ect ect.
