Lol Wladmir is great, Vitali K GGG is great, In fact pretty much all of the best fighters in world right now are white. \ It cracks me up when white guys like you play the race pity card. Marciano is a bum because he is a bum. When your best opponents are mob controlled fighters, old men , and guys paid to take a dive then you are a bum. Then Marciano wasn't a heavyweight by modern standards. I know he is your hero because you have no life. But everybody has to adhere to logic. There are weight classes for a reason. Now go type to somebody cares. Now you get dismissed. Now booted that.

Nothing much to disagree with here.

Louis was a tired old relic when Marciano beat him, but he had been so far above the competition in his prime, that the win still counted for something.

I submit that Walcott, Charles, and Moore, were still very dangerous fighters, when Marciano met them.

Layne and LaStarza were likely as good as they ever were.

What do all these men have in common?

They were all the current #1 ranked Ring contender, or the current champion, when Marciano beat them.

No I don't see him as being in the argument for the top two, but after that, he comes out swinging!

His longevity hurts him but hey, he was perfect.
We've never had another heavyweight champion retire undefeated.
I personally can't see anyone dislodging Ali or Louis, but each to their own.

And fair play. These things are subjective.

Solidly in the Top 15 heavies if legacy is considered. Head to head, he's might be in the Top 200.

    What a joke.

Totally agree I rank Rocky 4 or 5 all time.

In the post modern era his frail body wouldn't last a 20 fight career at heavyweight. Paper skin, a bad back and incredibly undersized. The wear and tear alone of sparring man-sized heavies in training would doom him.

And then there's the utter lack of athleticism which simply can not be compensated for in the post modern heavyweight landscape.

It's a bigger stretch to argue he isn't the GOAT.

He was the undefeated lineal Champion and beat the relevant names of his era, including his Boogeyman and main rival Archie Moore in a dominant win. Perfect career.

To downgrade him, you have to make assumptions that all these achievements are a clever illusion.

Lol so because Marciano beat a 50 year old Archie Moore who was a natural 160-170 pound guy that makes Rocky Marciano the greatest heavyweight of all time? I guess that fact that Rocky Marciano isn't a heavyweight by modern standards doesn't mean anything to you sad Marciano fans right? Another one gets ignored.

Yep Rocky Marciano is in the top 4 or 5 boxers who were named Rocky Marciano. But in terms of being a top heavyweight he isn't ranked in the top 25,000 since he wasn't a heavyweight by modern standards and never beat any modern standard heavyweight.
