I go for Marciano, but think the odds even right up at heavyweight. Holyfield never reached his prime at Cruiser IMO either skill/experience wise or physically. He really built up into a bonafide heavyweight and would have a much better chance as this version. Holyfield only had 18 fights at 190 and would not have had the experience to win this one. Tho he improved a lot for the rematch his first match with Qawi would be like a picnic compared to a match vs Marciano, a naturally bigger more powerful Qawi to say the least.
At Crisuer MArciano. More powerful, and one of the few guys who could throw more punches in the course of a fight. As John Thomas stated- if it were at heavy, that might be a different story. Marciano could use weights and..er...supplements to come in heavier too, but 5'9 doesn't carry the weight as well as 6'2. Would the fight be 12 rounds, or 15?
Ive always seen him listed as 6 ft 2,im assume the guys that measure know about rounding up.... Anyway, whats a few inches? (the nervous guy said to the hot chick:good .)
Well Ill concede to an inch/1/2"........but when someone gets the height wrong by nearly 2" i have to chime in.
Great fight. Evander likes to mix it up TOO much. eventually Rocky will catch him and it's lights out. About the seventh or eighth round.
Marciano was a true cruiser and I believe Holyfield belonged at heavy. Marciano by decision at this class.
I know Marciano hits hard but I think Holyfields got a fine chin and recovery ability. Hes quicker at hand and his feet then Marciano id pick him by a close decision.
If Qawi is any indication, Marciano handily wins this at CW. Now, at HW it could get real interesting.
