Ask Futch. His comment didn't specifiy particular fights.

I imagine Futch would probaby say "Don't be an idiot, most of those fights were when Walcott was a dock worker learning the trade."

This is just a stupid post. It's like asking "When People say Ali is the greatest what about Jones, Norton, Frazier, Young, Spinks, Holmes?..etc." You sound like a bitter moron grasping for straws when you pretend a fighter's entire career exists in a singular time vacuum where the ceiling is only as high as their low points. Show some understanding, context, and most importantly, common sense if you wish to be took seriously.

I'm not diluting that and have yet to back down from that statement.

You may need a top 10 list from a writer, but as I've already said: near universal upper teen listings are enough for me.

    Marciano would have destroyed Douglas.

    Fascinating thread....
Good arguments from both sides and conducted in a civil manner, with no malice.

    Well played.!

There is a good argument to be made that Buster was simply in the right place at the right time, what happened to Tyson probable was inevitable and he was ready to take advantage of it.

Douglas was a good Boxer, very good that night, good enough to beat Tyson the undefeated, in his Prime champ that everyone literally was scared to enter the ring against, it was a solid all aroundPerformance, but Tyson although somewhat off that night sittl no excuses got beat, Marciano would not have an off night he would relentlessy go after Douglas and KO him taking a lot of punches in the proccess but he does it, Ali said even when they fought for their Computer bout, old and mostly out of shape, Rocky showed flashes of great power, some speed and quickness and good movement for his age and being away from boxing, they say Rocky really hit him with several good body shots that hurt him, and htey had several pretty good exchanges, so yes marciano in Prime takes the punishiment to get his own big shots in to KO a game douglas.

I also think Buster wins this; he's way too fast and agile. Rocky would have a long evening trying to find him, and get blasted from the blind side. I see a similar ending as in Tokyo
