Tunney had the 2 fights vs Dempsey, got off the floor to win in the long count, those fights,KO over Heeny who drew with SHARKEY and his extensive early career give him the credentials to give Marciano a busy night for a while, difference between Marciano and Dempsey was Rocky's pace and late power. It was hard for anyone to go 15 with Marciano twice, only Charles did it in one of the best fights of his career. Tunney starts to wear down and tire by the 9th and Rocky's pressure and will make him start to dominate,Tunney gets stopped in the 11th

The question here is could Marciano catch up to Tunney, and knock him out? Marciano on points is unlikely. Tunney via TKO seems unlikely as well.

Tunney footwork and stamina were great. He was also durable and smart. Tunney would not stand toe to toe and give Rocky a chance to go to work. I'm sure Rocky would land some hard stuff, but Tunney could take punches better than Moore, Charles, or Walcott. I think Tunney via decision is most likely.

Fighters like Lastarza, and Lowry were quick boxer types who gave Marciano tough fights. Tunney was better than either of them.
