The big right hand meets the big left hook. Thoughts? My take is Rocky stops Joe middle to late rounds. Unless Rocky gets stopped on a cut.
Joe puts Marciano away early, and im a Marciano fan. People sometimes say Marciano would beat Tyson, and their main argument is that Tyson was a small heavy, well yes he was but he was still physically alot bigger and more powerful than Rocky.
Frazier will stop Marciano. Frazier has fought the best and bigger guys of his era and gave them all trouble . . . Marciano weights below 200 lbs . . . it's not gonna be a big problem for smoki'n joe.
well in most of there fights there was a 15 or 20 pound advantage for frazier plus he was a great as well. frazier stops marciano in a war in about 5 rounds. to big and great enough to make them advantages to count and some
Fair enough the age and condition of fighters has alot to say but you can not argue that just because a guy is bigger than an opponent he his far better. I am pretty sure Marciano would have KOed all the current huge fighters we have today.
Garbage. Frazier wasn't that big at his prime weights. He was 205 against Ali in the FOTC, and almost everyone considers that his prime weight.
So going by that theory, wlad would have KOed ali, liston?,im not saying he would have not,but you said a good big man will beat a good little man,of which i totaly disagree I personly think if rocky lands on any heavyweight from history he has a great chance of hurting them and putting them down and out,he hit like a ****ing mule,i also dont think ive ever seen a heavyweight who came at you all night, and was quite happy to walk through punches to get to his man,he also did not give a **** where he hit you, seriously the guys stamina was ****ing brutal,i got his autobiography around here somewhere, and he was one if not the most prepered fighter in boxing history The fight would be a all out war,of which i take the rock, but in a 3 match series it would be 2-1 to one of them,of which i aint got a clue who would come out on top How also is fraizer the biggest fighter rocky ever faced?,the best fighter maybe if he took on smoking joe,but no where near the biggest
He said it was like fighting a human windmill,as rocky never stopped throwing punches at him,his brutal stamina normaly wore most men down,go take a look at his fights, the guys he beat all looked seriously gassed,he just keep coming till they went down.Rocky also went back to his dressing room after the louis fight, and cried his eyes out,he was his idol when younger, and he hated what happened, but thats the way it goes sadly
And if the rock was in his era he would be heavier,so whats your point?,same as if fraizer was back in the 50s he would be smaller
Thats all interesting,i to hate comaring guys, bit silly really, nice in theory but no one can prove anything, and they tend to argue over and over the same points, that no one can really prove. I can see wlad really having a decent chance against some of the greats from the past,i really do,he is at times a robot, but he would be a monster compared to some of the past greats,be very interesting at the least, imagine they cant get to his possably weak chin, and his jab connects with all his power behind it,oh im sure many will say he would be beat easily, but i dont beleive that at all,he may be there hardest fights ever If it helps i take ali, forman and holmes beating him all close mind, the other greats for me would be 50/50.
I pick Marciano. Fraziers left hook vs Marciano's Susie-Q. Don't forget, Rock had a great left too, and threw bombs with both hands from all angles. Marciano also had an extremely underrated defense, see poster video on u-tube for example. Also look at their ring movement. Frazier bobbed and weaved in patterns, Marciano appeared random in his movements and also used his torso like a contortionist some times bringing his head so low it was around knee level. Powerwise, I'll take Rock there too. Rock weighed a tick under 190 most of the time. Frazier was about 205. Marciano deliberatly kept his weight unaturally low. If they fought in the same era, their weight would be even closer if not even. The weight issue is moot. Marciano vs. Louis: True Louis was past his prime, but he was on a nice winning streak, was favored to beat Rock, and he could still punch like a mule. Marciano was pre-prime, and improved a great deal after their fight. So if they fought in their prime, both boxers would have been far better than they were the night of the actual fight. Jerry Quarry 198 lbs., gave a prime Frazier a hell of a fight. Joe did wear him down for victory but it was serious give and take the first couple rounds. Marciano was light years ahead of Quarry in all categories. I pick Rock by mid-round KO in a great fight.
