Fun fight. I'm a huge fan of both. Here's the thing. I think Marciano sets a fast pace and lands big body shots that I'm not entirely sure Evander can handle over the long haul. I remember Evander sucking wind and grabbing for dear life in the last round against an old and slow Foreman who didn't throw that many punches, but just applied calm consistent pressure. When he fought a frisky guy who could set a fast pace and stay on him and work the body (Bowe) he got broken down. Could Evander last 15 rounds with Marciano's brand of nonstop aggression? If he does, he probably wins a decision. Not so sure he does though. Might depend on the tactics Evander uses. If Evander fights as a pure boxer, he might eek a decision. If he gets macho and tries to fight, he might be too tired to last the final rounds.

This would be a fabulous fight. I think Marciano takes him out in the later rounds. Holy may stop him on cuts though.

well i like marciano he was great warrior but holyfield was one to and a brilliant fighter he was quite small for a heavyweight and size was the thing that people like bowe and lewis had on him but in this fight holyfield would have around 3 inches in height and around 30 pounds in weight and that is final holyfield who is one of the all time greats wins either by decision or late ko

15-20lb in weight. holy's best fighting weight was 200-205lb. holy was slower at 215lb.

I find your pick of holy by late KO very odd, considering marciano was one of the best championship round fighters who ever lived, while holy showed some stamina problems in his career and nearly died fighting 5'7 Dwight Qawi who he only beat by split.

I would be more interested in seeing this if it was the cruiseweight version of Hollyfield.

That would be a real barnstormer.

I think Holy takes this one. He has all the physical advantages (height, weight, reach and speed) plus is a better technical boxer and his chin is first rate. He has fielded bombs from men much bigger than those Marciano ever faced and he probably hits harder than most if not all of Marciano's opponents. I see Evander stopping Rocky late in the fight due to severe cuts. If a 205lb Holyfield could take on a prime 240lb 6'5" Bowe and survive the 1st war and win the 2nd, I don't see him losing against a 185lb 5'11" 69 " reach Marciano who was twice as slow as Holy.

Instead of taking Marciano up to Holyfield's time, take Holy back to the 1950s, before steroids. I like Marciano.

Holyfield takes a decision if he fights smart.

The Cruiserweight Holyfield, without steroids, which was oddly enough the best version.

Holyfield had less than 15 fights and still very clearly beat Qawi IMO. This is like the DLH-Mayweather fight to me, that since the fight is listed as a split dec. on paper, people use that to act like fighter A barely beat fighter B.

It was quite a bit more dominant than the DLH/Mayweather fight the way I saw it, as I had Holyfield winning about 11 rounds.
