Too hard to call for me.

Can't imagine how Jeffries would fight Marciano because of lack of footage.

Also can't imagine Marciano losing a fight, period.

Can't imagine this one. What a fight though. Certainly both meet mid ring. Jeff you would need to say is the stronger of the two. Marciano may be able to get under and around Jeff mid distance with power shots. Too many unknown variables to allow an educated opinion. However Jeffs speed whether he has it or does not may mean victory or defeat. If Rocky can out speed Jeff he may pummel him round after round to a stoppage. If Jeff was indeed "the fastest big man" Sullivan ever saw and he is quicker than Marciano then this could lead to a Jeffries victory.

One pointer for me is that Sharkey, 5'8" 183lbs,twice gave Jeffries hell, and Jeff said Sharkey was his most difficult opponent because he gave him no time. Since I see Marciano as superior to Sharkey in every way except resistance to cuts ,I have to believe that Rocky could at least equal those performances, and probably surpass them.

Great fight Rocky vs the old timers is always more interesting to me than Rocky vs anyone after him. Rocky loses some of his biggest advantages with the old timers. Like his toughness and stamina wouldn't be as big of a problem for the old timers like it was for fighters of Rocky's era. The old timers were also willing to take a world of punishment so Rocky's non quit attitude would be matched. Especially with Jeffries who also fought through some serious beatings. Can't really decide but it would be interesting to see how Rocky handles someone just as tough and conditioned as he is. Also glove size might be a factor here. If its the old school gloves then both are probably wearing a Halloween mask by the end of the fight.

    Brutal.

Just guessing, but I think maybe Rocky outhustles Jeff. But hard call.

Does Jeffries fight in a crouch or more stand up? Does Jeffries fight more outside, or punch coming in and clinch? Can Jeffries draw Marciano's punches. Can Jeffries get under Rocky's right and work Rocky's ribs? Will Rocky's arm shots degrade Jim's ability to tie him up as the fight progresses?

I think there's some validity in looking at the trouble T. Sharkey gave Jeffries. At the same time, Jeffries did win those fights, and probably not at his best in either fight. (Pre-championship Jeffries had hand problems, and it was open knowledge prior to his fight Sharkey bout that Jeff's ahnds were in bad shape; Jeffries left was in jured in training prior to the Sharkey defense and reinjured early in the bout -- infact, he fought Corbett (1900) a left arm bone still 1/4" displaced, and had to have the arm reset and casted after that defense).

    Great fight man! :good

While Jeffries is this bigger man and a very strong man at that, I do not believe for a minute that he hit as hard as the Brockton Blockbuster and I do not believe despite his toughness and strength that he would have withstood Rocky's bombs for 15 rounds. Don't get me wrong here as Jeffires also hit a ton and had great stamina and for his era a true legend. While it lasted, it would have been a brutal no holds barred war! Marciano trained to be in the best condition possible and had a very underrated defense and not the punching bag some have made him up to be. Here is how I see this fight going:

    The fight

Jeffires and Marciano would both come out in their crouch with Jeffries attempting to use his size to his advantage but would soon find out that Marciano who had very strong legs is not that easy to push around and harder to hit with a clean shot that many realize. Marciano would dig vicious body shots and some hard tights and lefts to the head of Jeffires but Jeffries would also be able to withstand the punishment. This would be a severe test of wills as each man would test the others resolve. But no fighter that ever lived, had more determination to win a fight as Rocky and by the 12th round with both men showing the effects of a hard fight, Rocky would start to really tee off with Jeffries fighting back hard too, Finally in round 14 Rocky would land his vaunted Suzy Q right hand and I have news for any and everybody, nobody that ever lived could have taken that when it landed flush. Jeffires would go down and go down hard. Marciano by kayo!

It's possible Marciano stops Jeffries with a modern referee ,but highly unlikely he ko's him ,imo.

Several fighters took all Rocky had and saw the last round out. Jeffries had a top chin imo.

Both overrated men.one because he fought 168 and 175 pounders in a very short career.and another one fought old men, lhws and nobodies(not his fault, it was just his era)
