Probably not, but he would make it very intereresting for him, he's a damn sight better than ****ell, Lastarza, and imo Moore and Charles at that stage of their careers.

Charles, walcott and Moore at that stage were better in my opinion.

Moorer was a good fighter though. Like I say he's better than jimmy Young.

I won't argue weather or not Michael Moorer was "better" than the aged versions of Charles or Moore who Marciano beat as I don't think "better" is as relevant as his being "different." This is a dissimilar challenger to the kind Rocky faced. Marciano should probably be favored but I can't see this being an easy fight. David Tua was the only fighter to make short work of Moorer and that was when Michael was 35 years old and on the comeback trail.

I think Walcott, Charles and Moore were harder to beat when Rocky fought them than Moorer was at any point of his career. Walcott was coming off bis best two wins. Charles had re established himself as an outstanding contender. Moore was on a career best run. Resume wise each are better regarded too.

Moorer had a good skill set and being a southpaw brought a lot to the table but he showed vulnerabilities and some reluctance in all of his top level heavyweight fights. His signature win was over Holyfeild who was unusually poor that night and still decked him.

Not disagreeing with any of what you say. I just think that Moorer's punching power, size, south paw style and heart to get off the canvas and sometimes win would be significant factors. Rocky probably out guts and out lasts him. But I think he takes some big shots in the process and maybe even gets decked. Moorer gets a little underrated these days. Not an ATG by any means but a good solid fighter to be sure.

    The styles, the styles.

Moore and Charles had better assets to deal with Rock but in the end they still got a leathering.

Rock could of blasted away Kockell within two rounds. He trained hard for a fight , so he had a fight. He let Kockell have a few rounds before he blitzed him , just like he did with Starza and Louis.

If The Rock thought Moorer was a treat , he'd go in bulldozing for the early kill like he done with Walcott II .

Moorer was a good fighter. I liked him because he proved heavyweights can still be made from lightheavyweight sized guys in the modern era.

Moorer presents a lot of the same problems to a lot of highly regarded ATG champions and troubles them no more than he troubles Rocky.

If he gives Rocky a hard fight then loses, so what? He gives a lot of other champions a hard fight before losing to them too.

Remember how Ali got on against Mildenburger?

I wouldn't pick Moorer to beat Charles or Walcott, never mind Rock.

Moore was good enough to beat Radamacher 6 years after his loss to Rock and Pete R was good enough to challenge Patterson in his first pro fight.
8 years later Moore was a good enough opponent for Ali.

When was Charles in his prime exactly because he was giving up loses all throughout his career from the start.

Marciano wasn't at his best when he fought Kockell himself. He had a tough fighting career in the ring and in training and he retired one fight later.
