If both hit him with the right-hands they landed on Lewis, I would expect the same results.

Rocky v Rahman was actually kind of popular back when Rahman was boxing because of the nicknames.

But yeah haven't seen it in years.

Oooof, who can remember these things.

I remember Rahman being interviewed about the match though and predicting a draw  He was very respectful though, to be fair.

The best versions of all 3 fighters and I am picking McCall and Rahman. Sorry, I would be lieing if I wrote otherwise.

I don't think Rocky had a chin or face made for the powerful athletes of a McCall or Rahman. You're talking about 2 guys who were quite bit stronger than anyone Rocky faced and who both possessed (and could use) an 82" reach which was way beyond the elite fighters Rocky faced.

And remember, despite all the revisionism, Rocky got hit in his fights and got hit a lot. His face didn't hold up too well either. This process would be accelerated by younger, bigger, longer fighters.

My gut feeling is that while somebody like Lewis would be a reach too far for Marciano, he probably could prevail against somebody like Rahman on class and consistency.

That is a bit like saying that you could prevail against the man who shot Jesse James in a gun fight.

No reason to suspect that Rahman or McCall couldn't have beaten Marciano on the nights they beat Lewis. Both strong modern heavy s ,good enough to spark a modern day super heavyweight .Perhaps they don't blast him to defeat as quickly but bust him up using the weight advantage. McCall would take his best shots we know ,and has for saying he was just a journey man ,well look at what Buster achieved one night. Rahman went plenty of round with Tua ,who hit like hell ,so who says he can't take Rock's best shots ?I'd say don't write em off .

You think his chin was better than Lewis's?

I didnt intend it as such. If both landed their Sunday punches on Marciano they ko him that's my gut feeling.
And I don't think Archie Moore would drop and buzz Lennox.

When did he prove it?Which big hitting class super heavies landed on his chin? 37 years old ,under 200lbs Walcott and 39years old 188lbs Moore dropped him.

Well they both have the capacity to win Marciano isn't stopping McCall and maybe
Rahman could take his shots he took plenty from Tua who hit harder than Marciano imo.
If Rocky can't ko them he has to outwork them for a decision. He was no better a boxer than either of them imo So they have excellent chances of winning imo.
Rahman might stop him with his jab ,opening up enough cuts to do the job he has 40 pounds on Rocky and 3.5inches in height, plus 14 inches in reach that's a big ask to overcome.

Lewis was the only, repeat only, top ten heavyweight who got sparked by a single punch like that.

I don't care how big the guys were, neither of them were knockout artists.

anybody can get dropped by somebody like Walcott or Moore, unless we are talking Uzcdun, Chuvalo, McCall type chins.

i think I will go with the guy who was never stopped, over the guy who was stopped twice by single punches.
