How effective would he be against a young heavyweight 40pounds heavier, that is the question ,to quote Mr Shakespeare.H eisnt trying towear downa 37years old Walcott a 36 year sold louis o
If Foster who hits as hard as any lightheavy in my time, couldn't stop decent heavies,I think your statement fails by default

Watch the knockdown....Marciano was up on his feet at 2. Are you denying this fact?

Thanks for posting the film. Moore looks way better on film than any of Dempsey’s opponents except Tunney, who easily beat the **** out of Dempsey twice

Michael Spinks managed to stop a super heavy in Gerry Cooney. And granted, I know Cooney wasn't the best opponent out there at the time, but even beefed up, Spinks was still 30 pounds lighter than Cooney and even with all Cooney had going against him, he still was the favorite to win. Personally, I think Spinks punching power, particularly the heavyweight version, would have turned out the lights of many of the cruiserweight sized heavies fought by Foster.

Well Tony Zale was 35 when he savaged Graziano in 2 rounds

I dont think Spinks hit as hard as Foster.Foster's problem was he could not add meaningful weight Spinks did 208.75lbs, therefore he wasn't a light heavyweight and also therefore he cant help you case!

I don't insist on anything, I just say Rahman was in shape and Miller is carrying 40 pounds of blubber, now you can stretch this particular piece of string as far as you like but "thems the facts". Rahman went 10 withTua ,I think he could handle mighty midgets power.

Do you think Graziano would have ko'd a prime Zale.Their fights were only competitive because Zale was past his best.

Mcvey will never pick Marciano over any decent 200lb plus heavyweight. Mcvey wants Dempsey to be the only 185lb man who could beat “big men”

Miller hasn't met anyone yet and has just ducked Pulev ,lets wait and see if he can actually beat a top ten fighter shall we.

You know it's more to it than that ... Both guys were very solid heavyweight punchers as big heavyweights go .. both landed their best career shots on Lewis in fights where he came in distracted and over confident. Lewis did not have an all time great chin but he did have a solid one .. he took shots from Mercer, Briggs, Holyfield, Bruno, Vitali and many others in a terrific career. In addition, he came back to cleanly defeat the two guys that beat him. To discredit Lewis by referring to him as anything but a top five all time great heavyweight is a mistake.

    This is a great post

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks the other thread is malicious. It’s a troll thread by black cloud , and people are laughing and mocking an all time great champion Who went 6-0 against hall of famers who were still either champions or rated number 1 in the world when marciano fought them.

Mcvey is not the worst of it but he is definitely feeding the troll

FYI I don’t believe Dempsey was a better fighter than marciano, and accomplishments and legacy wise marciano blows Dempsey out of the water and I think you’ll agree with me on that

Even if you think Dempsey was better suited to defeat big men,

I’m sure you don’t pick him over klitschkos Joshua Lewis and bowe like most Dempsey fans here do?

Also I may be critical of Dempsey but at least I can sit here and confidently say marciano defeated the four best heavyweights of his era while Dempsey failed to defeat the two best heavyweights during his championship era
