If Marciano presented such a revelatory model for heavyweight success, one might wonder why trainers and promoters worldwide haven't been seeking out these bumbling, slow midgets as prospects. Instead they put their money on these basketball players with their strength and length. They really ought to consult this board.

I do laugh when posters here pick 185lb historic heavyweights to defeat Lewis bowe or Klitschko

Good Point, but I was told if these trainers sought out the slow, bambi legged, kangaroo slapping pig farmers from Kansas...they could get them to fight exactly like Vitali Klitschko

I think only Langford and Dempsey have realistic chances of beating Marciano of the sub 200pounders,I don't think that is being harsh on Rocky. Its quite a compliment imo.I couldn't care less what A N Other posts about Dempsey.I'm much too old to rise to such an obvious a fly.

No they don't ,they just state unequivocally that he is unproven against super heavies either koin'g them or taking their punches. That isn't being harsh on him its just the truth.

I've no interest in men's bodies I just know Rahman was not soft and I posted a bunch of photos to prove it.

He was considered a poor facsimile of Dempsey in the 50's, I have the Ring magazines stating it.Every "old guard ," is reluctant to make way for the next best thing.

    That is your prerogative.
I rate Marciano as a great under 200lbs fighter , definitely in the top 3 of all time.

H2H and accomplishments are different. Ali is high in accomplishments but probably too small to compete today.

Fury is 6-9, Breazeale and Wilder are 6-7, Joshua is 6-6, Parker, Miller, Ortiz and Whyte are 6-4, ...Kownacki and Povetkin are the midgets at 6-2 and 6-3...

I think some of the height stats are exaggerated we should probably deduct at least an inch from most oftheir official stats. Fury for example is probably 6'7 1/2 to 6'8

It would have been great if Marciano had came along a few years later, he could have fought Ingo , Patterson , Cleveland Williams, Liston , and Clay. Rocky always beats Archie, styles. But Rock always loses to Liston, if that's blasphemy so be it. And there's no way Marciano corners Cassius Clay. This in no way disparages the Rock, he simply came along at the right time to be undefeated.
