Suppose Marciano fought the Toney that beat Vasilly Jirov. How do you see this fight going?

    For comparison:

    James Toney

Toney, easily. Marciano was good for his time. But he had a heck of a tussle with older wiley vets like Charles and Jersey Joe. Toney was younger at the time and was much harder to hit. Lopsided decision for Toney.

marciano wins on u/d beating toney on workrate/conditioning and pressure, toney picks his spots in between marciano to pot shoit and get off but does not have enough power to keep him off and does not have the legs at cruiser to do anything but stick in the pocket and trade.

marciano along with holyfield 2 best cruisers of all time, toney a 1 fight cruiserweight champ from memory, good fight v jirov but not overall depth to his 190 career to say he can beat marciano who is a lot lot tougher and rugged than jirov and proved it v some all time greats albeit old fighters at the time marciano fought them.

I'm a Toney fan, and I kinda see it the same way as Sean. Toney would connect more but Marciano's defense is kind of underrated and his workrate is beyond question.

It would be like the Barkley fight but this version of Barkley would be ducking, weaving and countering and trying to impose his will more often.

Marciano. Toney would never have been hit so hard. People tend to forget that he was probably one of the hardest pfp punchers ever.

Marciano wins this by a brutal KO. Marciano has endless stamina, just non-stop punching for 15 rounds.

Marciano would keep coming and outwork him over 12 or stop him in a 15 rounder
