That's far from a given either although I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

Lol,we know Rocky can back up a past prime 37 years old Louis,[ and it was for 8rds,]how he shapes against a prime 220lbs big hitting, extremely quick handed banger is another matter! Ridiculous analogy!
Name ONE prime, quality 220lbs heavyweight Marciano beat!

You don't have a clue what Marciano would be like if he was around nowadays. He had the work ethic to be at the top in any era, I doubt you would be so confident if Marciano was 210-215lb of solid muscle.

Name one 220lb HW that beat Marciano, it's been proven that the smaller guys can compete with and beat the better big guys.

yes yes brutal war... tyson was bigger, faster, stronger, hits harder, got a much better chin, better defence, was better puncher overall , and 35 pounds of muscle heavier.
tyson by one sided beating in 1 round.

Tyson would be a favorite. But Tyson has been on the wrong side of a huge upset more than once.

What is Marciano going to do with 30 more pounds of muscle? Be less flexible, more static and hitable, less productive and gas out earlier. If he was made to be that weight, he would have been that weight.

And how the hell do you know that? Was Orlin Norris made to be that weight? Evander Holyfield? What about Mike Tyson, looks awfully lean nowadays now he's not got certain chemicals coursing through his veins.....

    I love this argument.

At 25 years of age Holyfield was a cruiser of average speed and power at just 187 pounds. In the 50s, he would have no reason to add weight to compete at heavyweight and likely wouldn't.

Not knowing what you did now, you would say adding 30 pounds to his frame would only slow him down and kill his stamina and activity. If he was meant to be 218 pounds, he would have weighed it as a mature man, right?

Why the hell do we? If you want to act out fantasy fights then no you don't have to compare them like they were at their times.

Marciano has stamina and pacing and over Tyson. Which might not really matter here. I also consider him a better puncher.

evander holyfield was 6'2 and had wider shoulders than rocky and much longer legs and was skin and bone at 187 pounds, evander could carry more weight effectively than marciano, rocky looked robust at 5'9 or 5'10 and weighing 185 pounds, he was not specially wide of thorax nor shoulders. also evander took hormones to increment his size
