I agree with this. For the rematch Rocky knew he could take him out with one shot and went at him like a bull from the opening second. If Wlacott could of gotten up , he knew the Rock wasn't going to stop bullrushing him so just saved himself from an inevitable leathering. It was a very hard short punch landed in close though , so both arguements could be valid.
No one here knows for sure if Walcott blacked out or not and unless a person had it happen to them they might not know what its like. Robinson said that from the time he was knocked down in the first LaMotta bout until the 9th round he had no recollection and didn't know if he was semi consious or not. He simply didn't know. So who really knows for sure.
:good --------- I prefer to believe what Walcott said. Sure, maybe the truth is he didn't want to get up; but I don't know that, and I don't presume to look into Joe's soul. Was there an 8-count rule in that fight? Pre 8 count, boxers tended to take as much of the count to recover as they could.
