No thats not what I said at all, I said that yes Walcott hit as hard as any of those shots, the Cooper KD of Ali or the Walcott KD of Marciano, Louis went down but got up and yes Louis could be dropped but look at his offence, no one could throw combo's like him with power in both hands. I noticed with you'r posts you like to put your smart aleck twist on words and pick hairs but if you read my post again you might get it Kid...you really hold your opinions in high regard and like to undermine others with your cute, snide peckings

Well lets get down to the nuts and bolts then shall we old timer :good

Any fair minded soul knows that this isn't a decent example of Bowe to hold up and to use the Golota bouts as fair game is totally silly. This coming from someone that doesn't even like Bowe.

You must mean in Listons 8th pro fight when fighting the relative 25 fight veteran Marshall? Split decision, pretty good going from a novice with a broken jaw. We should also mention that two fights later Liston tko'ed Marty in 6 rounds, and while we are at it beat him 9-0-1 in rounds when he stepped in as a last minute sub for Harold Johnson.

Do you consider holding the first Marty Johnson fight alone a fair summation of Sonny Liston's abilities?

Same old same old here. A sub par performance from a well pre prime Ali used for unfair leverage in comparisons with Marciano. Ali got dropped by Cooper yet still wins the fight and never stopped against the monsters that are Liston, Frazier, Shavers and Foreman. I'd like to see Marciano against all that lot. Not like Rocky wasn't sat on his ass by lesser punchers and fighters.

Would you consider holding forth the Jones fight a fair summation of Ali's abilities?

And Lyle ended up flat on his back bigtime. Foreman decimated a fellow ATG in overwhelming fashion, when did the Rock do that? Or Louis for that matter. Lyle was a rough tough big punching heavyweight who weighed some 40 pounds more than Rocky Marciano. Not much to go on there. Foreman would be one mountainous proposition for Marciano no matter which way you spin it.

Again, is just the Lyle fight a fair Foreman summation?

You can't have seen many left hooks then. Walcott and Moore were no Tyson, Frazier, Foreman or Liston for power that's for certain. We're talking sub 200 pound fighters. Of course the blows Lyle was landing on Foreman pale in comparison.

Having trouble in first fights is hardly something to write home about.

Yes he was a painful experience but that doesn't mean fronting the likes of Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Tyson and co can't be as painful or worse for Marciano. We are talking men with much much much more size and class than Rocky ever encountered.

Louis and Marciano aren't the only two great Heavyweights who ever lived and the others deserve their credit too

    :good

But saying Bowe or Spinks would masscare the Rock is other chance though. Marciano should not be a mayor underdog vs any one. And that is what this trend is all about. Should Marciano be a 40-0 underdog vs Ali?

True but i don't have problems with someone picking Bowe - he's a huge man and would be a handful at his peak. He's also freakishly skilled inside for such a big heavyweight and this would be both needed and very handy vs The Rock. He showed plenty of grit in the Holyfield stouches too. His size advantages and skill make him a very live underdog in this one.
