So, only Pac Islanders are on the juice? And that's how they are disproportionately represented on offensive and defensive lines?

A lot of these guys were massive because they were out of shape. Lennox Lewis weighed 227 when he crushed Razor Ruddock. Eleven pounds later, he got stopped by Oliver McCall.

Tua was 224.5 when he stopped Hasim Rahman. Within a year and a half, he was coming in the ring at 253.

The answer to this whole thread is training is different not so much the body frame.

Marciano could be as big as Orlin Norris got.

    ....If he wanted to.

Why wouldn't Marciano be at his ideal weight which was about 185?

Does the difference between 12 and 15 rounds represent a need for 30+ additional pounds? And by the way, Marciano had a lot of championship rounds where he was throwing less than 40 punches... so I'm not sure he always needed to be so light... unless that was truly his optimal weight.

    Norris has a 39" chest? 14inch biceps?

    What was Norris' optimum weight?

Can you see what I'm saying?

Are we comparing Norris to Rocky When he weighed 187? Or when he built himself up?

Just for the record, I am willing to concede that Marciano would make about as much of dent on the modern heavyweight division as did Norris.

Sounds reasonable ,the trouble with those using him as a poster boy is that he didn't make a dent in prime class heavies.

If he was fighting today, he'd be a cruiser. Nothing wrong with that. For all we know, he might even be in MMA instead of boxing.

Using his career as the yardstick, he'd be in two kinds of fights wars and mismatches.

Yes. That's because of their genes, almost certainly.
But there are on the juice as much as the next man.

You are entitled to your opinion. It would however make more sense to this discussion if you would just concede that Marciano and Norris were about as close a physical match as you could get. The only difference being the training trends for the Times they fought.

He does not have to make a dent. You just have to concede for this debate that Norris was as close a physical match as you can get to Rocky.

There is nothing wrong with being a cruiser. Today it is almost the home of the true heavyweight who isn't bulking up. However, we both know the prestige and money is against the body builders, rare athletic giants and giant oafs. Nearly Thirty years ago Orlin Norris built himself up and embarked on a heavyweight boxing career with as close dimensions as you can get to Rocky. He beat four heavyweight champions but was denied a shot at the title so he dropped into his natural weight class (cruiserweight) and became champion before embarking on another heavyweight career as a journeyman. Norris gave another generation of heavyweights all they could handle. His final fight was as a cruiser too.

what other type is there in the heavyweight division? Come to think of it when was the last championship war?
