At this point I would say Walcott, even knowing that it might come back to bite me.

I would be thinking that I had not seen Joshua in the later rounds, and that Walcott might be wily enough to take him into deep water and drown him.

And I suppose if it was a fight that was actually happening THE very small but very experienced champion would get some picks.

Might look like a slight variation of Klitschko vs. Chambers.
Except I think Walcott is much better than Eddie.

How would that be relevant to the matchups I have posted?

So in essence you are going to pontificate ,without making any picks?

He wouldn't be champion, he is an ex- champion in the exact same physical and mental state as he was in after Marciano had put him through the ringer for 13 rds previously. This is the Arnold Cream who was kod in1 rd by Marciano.I do wish people were capable of reading and inwardly digesting the titles of threads.

I called him a work in progress did I not ? Does that mean my matchups are invalid?

The Walcott of the second Marciano fight was, "brilliant"? Because that is the Walcott Joshua would be fighting.

I think these men are the closest things that we have had to men like Walcott, Charles, and Moore etc. in recent years.

I also think that some people would be reluctant to favour Joshua over them at time of writing.

I think the Walcott of the second Marciano fight was in the ring strictly to collect his pension plan and that Holyfield would destroy him . I don't think that version of JJW would get out of the 1st rd with Joshua unless he ran like a thief.
I'm not an especially big fan of Joshua as of yet ,hopefully the Wlad fight will give me some more answers.
At the present time I would pick Evander of the Douglas fight to beat Joshua .

This is plausible, but is there any evidence to support this idea?

Is there anything about Walcott's preparations for example to suggest this to be true?

If not, then we have to consider the possibility that he was on form, but that Marciano just got his chance early.

That is a possibility. Evidence to the contrary? Has any fighter ever said post fight," well I didn't fancy another knockdown dragout with that beast, when he caught me with a decent shot early I thought f*ck it, let's listen to that man count ten".
I believe Walcott looked loose in muscle tone compare to his appearance for their first fight,he also looked seemed very apprenhensive in the short time the fight lasted. I wasn't in his training camp so I don't know if he preparations were any different, I can only go by my gut feeling. The Walcott of the first Marciano fight would have given Joshua a very interesting evening imo.
