http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Arena/1047//ring.html Scattered Ring Ratings for his time. The following were either top 10 and or former champs Rocky had beaten Rex Layne Lee Savold Roland Lastarza Joe Louis Walcott Charles Cockell Moore Matthews These are scattered ratings. The could have been more contenders beaten. All in all to beat 9 guys in the top ten with Walcott, Charles, Louis, and Moore being former champs you have to give the guy some due. If he was not at least a good fighter one of them beats him. I bet half you fools don't even know Rocky had his nose split literally in 2 in the Charles rematch and KO'd him before the ref stopped the fight on Rocky's part.
same goes for wlad yep he beat everyone in front of him...that is true....but if everyone he beat were old or never had a big win, then its not saying much. bad era. not his fault. just saying,
Also looking at some of the other guys in the top ten like Baker and Valdes. Both of those guys lost to Moore so there was no sense in giving them shots since Rock beat the **** out of Moore. Bob Satterfield was knocked out by Ezzard Charles in 54 as well.
Walcott had beaten Charles who is HOF and lost a questionable call to Joe Louis only 4 years before he lost to Rock Moore was a LHW champ before AND AFTER HIS LOSS to Rock. Even at the advanced age of 37 Charles had beaten a slew of top 10 fighters (Maxim, Layne, Satterfield. Bivins, Wallace, Brion) all before he fought Rock (inside a 3 year span)
