Lost twice to Junior Jones and then to Morales but still came back strong to cement himself as an ATG by winning one of the best trologies in modern boxing and getting several other high profile scalps including that of Naseem Hamed. He had the mental toughness a Victor Ortiz or a Devon Alexander could only dream of :deal

Yes the convoluted morons on this forum still believe Naz was "past prime" when Barrera beat him.

Ferocious beast of a man. A more or less constant joy to watch. Some of the most fluid non-robotic punching I've ever seen in a fighter. Great wars against Morales, Marquez, and McKinney.

One of the best examples of natrual and calculated timing of punches that I've ever seen, legend.

In some of his fights he was like a hungry velociraptor hacking away with those left hooks and body shots.

I think it was Round 10 against McKinney, he hurt McKinney and then just wouldn't let him go (credit to McKinney for making it out of the round). Got a flash knockdown against Sanchez half-way through a combination, bounced back up and smacked Sanchez in the jaw before the referee could count him or separate the two into neutral corners.

IMO he was a nightmare for more technically orientated boxers that's the reason why a close to shot version caused a prime Marquez so many problems.

It's not that, more like they never really rated Hamed. Either Hamed was as good as he was made out to be and Barrera beating was a massive feat, or Hamed was a hypeob and Barrera just exposed him and the win was worth little. Can't have it both ways. I personally feel it was a great win, Hamed would be difficult for anyone with his unorthodox style and his power. Barrera was just too good for him on the night

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRF_3VeI-LQ"][/ame]An offensive monster. I've seldom seen combinations delivered with such fluidity and accuracy. Fighters come and go, some after a single professional loss, but Marco bounced back whenever the critics doubted him. My favourite fighter of all time. I can't say enough good things about the man.

Holyfield's comeback is just as good.

Hopkins' comeback (after he lost to Taylor) is also worth mentioning.
