I knew JMM was super special even back then... I remember that I didn't want MAB to take the Pac fight in the first place, I thought he was super dangerous, upcoming and at a stage in his career when he just wasn't going to lose. Marco picked him because he said that Manny reminded him of a younger version of himself and he wanted to give him the shot. That's one of the reasons I got so freakishly heated at Pac fans talking **** after the fight. Mab didn't HAVE to take that fight. It was a goddam dangerous fight, it's not like nobody knew that Pac brought major heat. They should have been thanking Marco for making the whole thing possible and instead they were pissing all over him, makes me mad thinking about it right NOW lol

Unfortunately I can't find any of my old posts. The first Barrera/Pacquiao fight is when I got into Boxing properly. Then I watched Marquez/Pacquiao and became more of a JMM fan. That didn't last long though. 2004 seems so long ago now. Jesus.

I still love Marquez and EM too for that matter. I'm a huge fan of all three, but MAB will always come first for me.

I only mentioned the ageing thing because I'm sure some people who are not fans base their opinions on the tail end of Marco's career comparing him to JMM and Morales.
His greatness has never been in question for me.:good

Because most of mullet wearing Barrera's fights were stopped prematurely and offered little in the way of highlight.

The very last KO in my Barrera highlight does show a Mullet Barrera though. :hey

Nas was pretty good at the Euro level, but once he stepped up MAB ended his career
